Maybe people will pay more attention to what happened in Ukraine when Right Sector and Azov(huge neo nazi groups)hijacked Euromadan and overthrew a democratically elected Government and handed it over to Nationalists. Then they immediately had a illegal election that the eastern third of the nation rejected and quickly escalated into a civil war. Now these same torch wielding Nazis, teamed up with the state militias look awfully alike to me. Look in the link. Red and Black is Right Sector, Yellow is Azov. These guys can take on the Government in some parts of Ukraine and when ordered by the Government to leave the front lines, refused. They also have made a number of terrorist bombing lately sending up a elevator and blew the building apart to get just one guy..... yes I know it's far away... but take a look at the future in the USA.

Our government supports militant Nazis when it suits them. We even give them military aid. The Islamofacists in the middle east are just a different brand of Nazi. Our governments support them when it suits them for regime change. We should be ashamed. - boonerbuck
I think smart people would be willing to be more critical of muslim extremists if they didn't think that white supremists would twist their opinions. Fact is, only one set of fascists is dominating NA so it's just not that productive to be like
"look, some countries that are muslim majority seem pretty fascist too." At least that's my take.
And I'm now putting down this convo, as much I'm really interested it's been a bad experience for me on this board. |

Avs sign Toninato... couple more names will roll in today. I think Kerfoot lands with us. butcher with Buffalo(eichel). Just my hunch. - neem55
what makes you think kerfoot signs here? Are we talking a hunch or something he said that suggested it? |

Yet we paid Sutter almost as much to produce what Bo did and hasn't and you want to pay Bo more now? This is the reason teams get in cap hell. by paying big dollars to 2nd tier stars who end up not being worth the money. If we got rid of Sutter, THEN signed Bo to a long term 5.5 mil contract I'd have no problems. You call him a high end 2C and yet fail to acknowledge that most of his points came before the AS break and then he fell off a cliff once put in a position where he was the go-to guy on the team.
Can he improve on his totals? Sure, but before committing that kind of term and money, I'd like to see him do what he did last year for at least another year or more before giving him that sort of a potential anchor contract. Again, I know I'm in the minority here, you like Bo and that's fine. I just don't see him as elite and I want to see at least another year of him being that 'high end 2C' that you believe him to be and to dump salary in the form of Sutter before I give him the big dollar/term contract is all. - DariusKnight
I am not sure where to start....I guess I'll start with Sutter. what in the (frank) does Sutter's contract have to do with Bo? it's over in two years. why would that impact what you are paying Bo in 6 years? Are we desperate for cap space? This is a truly bizarre reason to not commit to Bo. they could trade sutter or buy him out if his contract was so atrocious. it isn't. truly bizarre
$5/ 5.5 million per year isn't elite $. Are you stuck in 2005? THat's what teams pay 2nd line players. I am not sure what else I can say on this matter. You clearly don't like Bo so we aren't going to agree |

Fair enough.
And like someone else said, he probably will get locked up long-term, which i'd be ok with...i'd just prefer to play it safe on this one and see how he continues to develop and hey, if he won a selke or art ross, i'd be happy to pay him 8m/year after that! - dbot
i disagree, but your argument has merit. I want to buy some of his UFA years for when we are hopefully back to being a contender. |

I don't think anyone is debating that the salaries are going up every year, it's more whether it is worth locking up Bo to a long-term deal based on anticipated development.
We could lock him up for 6 years, but if he is not up to 2C or 1C duties like some expect, then the deal becomes an anchor. - dbot
he has already produced at a high end 2 C rate. are you predicting he will regress this season? I suppose it's possible but unlikely |

The focus was shutting down mcdavid not draisitl, he had a good season and playoff the surprise is over now see how he does, he might turn out to be elite but he isn't yet its to early, can he carry a team without mcdavid? the money the oilers gave him is superstar money and he had one good year he struggled before that. - Bettmanhatesus

just saying 1 good year doesn't guarantee elite, if he was on the avs or nucks can he carry the team? I have my doubts he can carry a team like mcdavid or Crosby. - Bettmanhatesus
He literally carried the team the year before, as a 19yr old, while McD was out half the season.

I only have one single wonder from the deal. Reading it up on the TV right now
McJesus/ Draisailt 21 mill
Toews/ Kane 21 mill
Crosby/ Malkin 18.2
I know contracts were signed in different times but all contracts will go up for other players too.
OKAY here's my question and i'm not in the sober state to want to find out the answer. please do it for me.
Did Kane and Toews win any cups with their new contracts? |

Are you sure? Because that's basically 2.8 million that was left on the table to sign another half decent player. Now Chicago is in the worst cap trouble and has been bounced two years in a row in the first round. |

No, those contracts kicked in 2015-2016 - Toews and Kane made $6.3 the previous 5 years = 2 cups, and the first cup was during their ELCs

I was talking about ISIS and Al-Qaeda. They are not Muslim nations. I believe in hands off in the middle east. Have no problems with Muslims. I'm too well informed to be that ignorant. I'm talking about supporting/arming/training militant extremists... racialist or religious... it's all the same to me.
