People wonder why the arena was quiet. We spent the entire game in our own zone. Hopefully Housley lets jack be jack, and to a lesser extent, just point to the opposing net and tell Girgensons to go there in a straight line

OH i dunno I just tossed out a number. Probably 3rd best D prospect?

I see no reason our goal scoring won't go up
We were right around 2.5 in the 2nd half,
which I believe had us borderline top10 in the league

That should go up a little, just with improvement of young guys
Plus the defense should be much better at moving the puck up the ice
And Housley's system of getting the defense involved in the offensive zone

I'll also assume PP regresses a little, but should still be top10

For me...
that all adds up to better than league average scoring
With real potential to be top10 overall

And when we start bringing up scorers like Baptiste & Nylander,
it should only help as well

I agree with all this. Heck, wasn't it two months into the season before our defense scored a goal? The change over on D should increase goal scoring alone, plus a healthy Eichel and Kane in a contract year. I expected a big jump in ppg for the team.



EDIT:. Our defense had 11 goals last year. Scandella and Beaulieu combined for 8 goals.

honestly, that is pathetic even if you take into account reinhart and eichel are with the big club

I'm 50/50 on what Murray did overall
He traded a lot of picks
Wasted some on guys like Hurley, Karabacek, etc

My biggest complaint was him not drafting more defense
