Personally I would look outside our conference and trade for a guy like Coutorier and not Hopkins if we are looking at moving Sutter. - thundachunk
Itwould be hard to find a taker unless you are getting someone that carries a larger salary that is less useful.
like Dustin Brown or Marc Staal. |

Also NYI need to make a push if they want see Tavares stay in their uniform. Sutter would be a perfect addition at the right price and I bet it could land us Barzal. They are in a bubble right now and their window is closing. They need to make a push. |

I know but their are better options at centre outside our conference. While RNH is a quality option there are better. |

I dont think Sutter gets Van close to Barzal, I wish they could trade for him, but cant see it happening. |

That makes more sense than Couturier imo. Canucks need to add though? |

My favorite Canuck Dman was a Swede. I liked Naslund .
Your obsession over my obsession is becoming a real obsession
I was also one of the most vocal voices here on moving Hamhuis and not re-signing him ( Non Swede)
I also led the way about trading Burrows and Higgins (Non Swede)
You are so obsessed with what you think, that you are missing the main message .

I for one value his opinion, regardless of if I agree with it or not which is more than I can say for a majority of others on here. |

There is no way a 3rd line center at best gets Barzal. Sutter does have value just not that much. |

Nice angle. Correct on JT. He announced last week he's in a wait and see approach about signing. The new stadium deal by 9/28 and team improvement to be contending now not years from now. Lot of pressure on Barzal to step in and produce. Maybe they go for tried vet like Sutter instead who's in his prime now.
Like it enough to ask the fellas over there what they think. |

Because we have retained salary on two other players we can only retain salary on one .
As a coach in early February I would start sitting them out maybe 2 of 3 games. This is why.
1) you will see what life is like after the Sedins.
2) you would get a higher draft pick
3) if they are hoping to find another contract after this year they need to prove they are still players. This may convince them to request a trade so they can play. Sitting out for the final stretch run will not help them get another contract. - VANTEL

Are you in support of Lefty's Sutter for RNH trade as doable?
Getting RNH without giving up futures or prospects works for me. Better scenario then signing Turris for $6M to get rid of Sedins. Plus sign Kane in 2018 to play with RNH would put the nail into a Sedin extension.
As well as makes room for Guadette to send off Sutter. |

Drouin for Sergachev and a 2nd rounder. I think potential is doing just fine. |

Right.
The only reason a player like RNH would even be potentially available to a team like Vancouver, is because of the other team's cap situation.
Similar to Hall, and ol gaptooth, the oilers are being forced to move out players to fill holes (at a lower salary).
I still think they need help on D and my proposal last year was Tanev for RNH.
Sutter straight up for RNH seems unlikely.
Surely they could find a younger player with more upside if they were looking for a forward.
Just my opinion. |

We don't have to bring in anyone to get rid of the Sedins, just don't sign then, easy. |

A player like that just entering his prime. I would guess they would try and trade him out of conference unless the price was high.
RNH just needs to be unchained from behind other guys. Allowed to play his game. |

We will see how this season goes but I would be surprised if they had one more in the tank. Daniel is going to hit the 1000 mark when that happens its pretty much it. |
