Would you trade Horvat for RNH? - CanuckDon
I don't get what that has to do with anything? |

Are you in support of Lefty's Sutter for RNH trade as doable?
Getting RNH without giving up futures or prospects works for me. Better scenario then signing Turris for $6M to get rid of Sedins. Plus sign Kane in 2018 to play with RNH would put the nail into a Sedin extension.
As well as makes room for Guadette to send off Sutter. - Nuck4U
I don't mind RNH but he isn't a right fit here. I don't like the ideas of Turris or Kane. They will most likely want too much money and term with the direction this team needs to go.
I don't agree with it, but the Sedins will sign a 1 year deal after this year to help with the younger guys.
I really like Gaudette, he's a competitive guy and he works hard. I see him at a min of a 4 line center after he signs next spring.
As for Sutter, he's 1 dimensional offensively.....doesn't see the ice very well. He is decent defensively, more suited for bottom 6 role but not at 4.35 mil a yr.

Nope, there is no oil stain on horvat. |

I for one value his opinion, regardless of if I agree with it or not which is more than I can say for a majority of others on here. - thundachunk

I'm i the only one that realizes RNH is trash? Draft and develop - CanuckDon
Need to see 1 more PO season before deciding otherwise.
Rather not trade for him. |

The appeal of Turris/Kane is only if they're signed as free-agents and don't 'cost' anything. Same with RNH, only if he's available for cheap b/c Edm has to dump him.
And no one is saying trade for valuable pieces like Bo.
i'd sign Kane if Sedin's moved on. |

Id sign Kane regardless if Sedins left, hes better than almost everyone on the current roster except Bo and maybe Boeser, if he just costs money in free agency it would be a hard thing to pass on. His toughness would be a huge plus aswell |

Just thinking capspace wise... with Bo getting probably 6m/year, Kane is easily gonna cost 6.5-7m/year (makes 6 right now)...not sure if we got the space to pick him up without dumping the Sedin's 14m/year. |

You might be right on Kane's cost. He's making $5.2 now on a deal signed as core player on team to build around. Now on open market there would be a lot of interest. But it wouldn't be core money. By next UFA market $6-7M x 6/7 covering his prime years would be seen as reasonable.
There is a lot of cap room $35M in 2018. No long term contracts other then LE with 4 years and Sutter with 3 years. Bo could be other one if they don't go bridge. Guddy maybe. But everyone else is 2 years or less or on ELC. Couple of RFA's of note is Sven and Granlund.
If they...cough...cough...sticks in the throat just writing it...extend Sedins one year. It would be probably after UFA opening. Then cap wise depending on what Canucks got and could give. The prospects on ELC's give them a lot of flexibility as well. |

We don't have to bring in anyone to get rid of the Sedins, just don't sign then, easy. - A_SteamingLombardi
See the reasons above by all on this page why it's not that simple. |

The SHL season is divided into a regular season from late September through the beginning of March, when teams play against each other in a pre-defined schedule, and a playoffs from March to April, which is an elimination tournament where two teams play against each other to win a best-of-seven series in order to advance to the next round. The final remaining team is crowned the Swedish champion, or Svenska mästare in Swedish, and receives the Le Mat Trophy.
Its possible both of EP & Dahlen could play in Utica or the NHL after their season. |

Why is it "not that simple" to not re-sign the twins? |

Nice breakdown. You must have seen my bold prediction on page 10 on EP lol. But I predicate it on weight gain for EP. I hope Dahlen stays in NA. No guarantees he'd play on same team with EP. Plus it would be better for him to develop his small ice game now as he's got less talent then EP. |

Have you not noticed the gagillion posts by many on team needs and solutions to get around Sedin issue and the equal number by others of why exentension benefits the D&D part of rebuild. That alone says something on the view regarding simplicity. |

Good. Looks like a prospect that could make the NHL as a middle six someday. |

Meh, operative word = "rumor"
They need to do more than that to sell their ticket plans, which i'm pretty sure isn't going too well. |
