Jersey got a heck of a lot better in the off season. If Hischier plays, and the addition of Boyle and Marcus Johansson, I think they are could be much better. I think Vegas is almost destined for last place. Detroit will be worse than us I think, Colorado will be worse than us as well. - Codes1087
losing zajac to start will hurt them. will be tough to insulate hischier.
they had a real problem scoring goals. boyle won't help with that.
and their defense might be the worst in the league. bottom 4 for sure. |

I think the Canucks are being underrated here...I envision them finishing ahead of Colorado, Detroit, Jersey and Vegas. They will probably finish around 25th. - CanuckDon
I dont have much confidence the Canucks will finish ahead of any teams, but the likely ones I have are Colorado and Detroit. I think Jersey and Vegas will be better than VAN, though both may tank harder post-TDL and end up lower in the final standings |

I don't understand the Vegas hype...I think they will easily be last place. |

I dont think there are many that are buying into Vegas hype, I feel like many agree with your stance. I just think they have certain vets on their team that can steal a few extra points. I think Fleury/Pickard will prevent them from completely bottoming out (until TDL where I think they may unload completely), just my guess though |

theres been a lot of changes to the team and staff since last season. The PP alone might prove to the difference maker in our season.
Personally Im of the opinion they surprise a lot of people, not being awesome but improved and higher in the standings. Id say middle placing. |

their forwards are absolute trash. who is going to score for them? Fleury? Pickard? |

Leafs will make the playoffs, Canucks will finish bottom 5, that is about as far as I will go on either team. - Codes1087
The leafs had a lot go right last year and barely made it ....there's no way their top 5 scores miss only 10 games or whatever they did |

I think goaltending could be a huge problem for the Canucks ....miller covered up a lot while he was there |

The flames got average goaltending last year and barely made it...there's no way they finish with as many points after downgrading in net.

Cory will steal them a lot of games they shouldn't win |

their defense is terrible. |

i love when I make a statement like that and the response is a shot against the flames and not an argument to why I'm wrong .... |

Their forwards are worse than Vancouver's but I wouldnt say by a lot.
Neal - 9 straight 20 goal seasons
Smith - twice put up 50 points
Marchessault - 30 goals last year on a bad FLA team
Not saying there isnt question marks or that they will definitely continue their success, but I also cant say confidently that 37 year old Sedins, Bo, and the rest of Van's offense will outgun them |

it's a lazy argument.
the leafs strength is their depth at forward, including the ahl.
a key injury on defense will probably hurt us more than losing any forward other than matthews. |

He was probably the best player for us last season. He kept us in a lot of the games. |

Good point, Red. - Marwood
I think the leafs are in a great position moving forward but they aren't surprising anyone this year ...and there will be injuries to the big 3
All this hype is just leafscoast bias ...give them a year or two and then I'll buy into them being a top East team |

It's not lazy it's accurate
Didn't Mathews go a long stretch without scoring last year and one of the other two picked up the slack ... if they are injured the leafs might not have made it ...take the best 5 players from every team and see how many games were lost to injury ...leafs would be near the bottom of that ...that could continue but they could regress to the mean |

I'd flag you for an offensive post but no one would listen |
