Your LW forwards should be Granlund Sven Goldobin and JV or Gaunce in that order
Centers Bo Hank Sutter Burmistrov
RW Bo Gagner Loui Dorsett - VANTEL
I dont think Dorsett gets a spot, he could go mentor some kids in Utica. I just cant see him beating all of Virtanen, Rodin, Goldobin, Gaunce, LaBate, Boucher, and Macewan.

Dorsettis is a good shut down guy and is the only forward that will fight |

LaBate, Virtanen (rarely) and Macewan would fight too, i like what Dorsett brings, but he really doesnt intimidate anyone. |

I don't see MacEwen being on Canucks this year he needs to earn his stripes first |

Yeah thats true, i guess id just rather have either Labate or Rodin on the 4th line. With Burm being a possibly more offensive guy i think Rodin would fit better paired with him then Dorsett. |

Exactly. What's the point to him willing to fight if he's just a punching bag that takes penalties. I miss Gino and Brashear those players could instill fear. DD has zero effect of that. He'll have to earn his spot this season and he's got plenty of competition from players who's skill set is above his.
Guddy will be the fighter to fear on the team. But fighting won't play much of a role for this team and having DD on it won't change that. |

These guys have to prove this before they are handed the roster spot. Dorsett has brought it time and again. Win or lose, he was the only guy who consistently stepped up to defend another Canuck.
I don't like that he isn't the biggest guy and I might be like you/whoever that doesn't like seeing our guy lose more than he wins but I'd rather him in the lineup than a bunch of guys that could fight or step up, but don't.
I'd rather Dorsett in the lineup than Gaunce. Dorsett is all heart. Every team should want more of that in their lineup.
If others step up and take his spot, so be it. But I won't like watching us get easily handled by bigger teams with everyones heads down on the bench.
wouldn't mind being proven wrong. |

Don't see how punching bag DD changes the equation for the Canucks. Bigger teams have played heavy on Canucks regardless. He's made no difference there. Plug in another's player that can score and that has an impact more then him.
Canucks won't play the game you seek until they have players like Gadjovich, MacEwen and JV in the line up.

No worries. Just discussing. I get you rather have a guy capable and willing then not willing to stick up for team mates. DD is wiling just question the capable effect. But camp should bring some change depending on where players are at. |

One thing we should agree on is we're a top 5 pick team next summer. |

We had Gudbranson in the lineup and he might have been capable, but he didn't seem willing. Either way, he had no effect.
Gudbranson might have been injured, and that is an excuse. But it also sounds like Dorsett has been playing injured for awhile too.
I would hope anyone stepping up to defend another teammate or just give some push back would stir something in those on the bench or sitting back in general.
It sounds like this sort of player or attitude could be easily replaced by a trade or ufa signing or team toughness/committee but I will believe that when I see it. We can be such a soft team at times. |

It's on the soft soft side. Guddy did take on the Laff goon and showed up when needed with those injured hands. But he was out of the line up most season. It's not easy to find a big mean guy that can play. Other then the prospects mentioned there aren't any options right now. I'd take Kane as a UFA just for that next season. |

The leafs had a lot go right last year and barely made it ....there's no way their top 5 scores miss only 10 games or whatever they did - Redmile247
Dream time:
Just after Xmas - After hearing the demands from his fans (joking), LL finally caves and trades TOR 1st'18 + prospect for Tanev.
Soon after the trade, Matthews gets injured and misses the remainder of the year.
Leafs miss playoffs by 2 to 3 spots.
Leafs lotto pick gets 1st.
Canucks lotto pick gets 2nd.
And Bob's your uncle.
