you are missing my point. I understand you like (Kane), I don't mind what he brings as a player. I just think he is a bad player to have around our young players & currently making 5.25 million,he will be getting a huge increase.
His prime is now, not when we are ready to compete.
Not interested in having more contracts that will restrict this team when they are ready to compete in about 4 years or so. - Renidrag
Combine this with a ridiculous contract, no thanks. Go to Vegas. |

Kane won't be getting no HUGE increase. He hasn't come close to the 57 point season that got him that contract. If he has another season like last. Long term he might get 4.5 Aav. |

Disagree, he will get 5 yr at 6.5-7 million per. Teams will pay for the goals and not worry about point totals. |

Show me another NHL contract where a guy who has close to 30 goals and half the assists gets 6.5 per season. |

No. You are right, Why would any 27 year old entering free agency, that has been a consistent goal scorer expect a raise on current agreement. How foolish of me to think something like that. |

He has been over 20 goals twice in his career...where is this consistency you speak of? |

1 30 goal season 1 28 goal season 1 20 goal season 2 19 goal seasons and a 17 goal season in lockout shortened season. Pretty consistent. |

Stick to the process and continue to build through the draft, the team is not ready to sign UFA's and compete so why waste the money. When the time is right and kids are ready, then you sign a UFA or two.
IMO the Canucks are two or three years away from that... |

Totally okay with this. Going into this season my expectations are low. Hopefully get some entertainment from the new talent. Aside from that there's going to be some painful games. That's when you switch to NFL. |

Consistency to me would be over 20+ goals for 5-6 seasons...that's consistency. A bit too sporatic to be called consistent but that's just me. |

Why because last time he signed a contract he came off a 57 point season? Has he come close to that since? Nope. So why would he get a raise? |

We saw last season, doesn't matter if you see the kids play and still lose. Not entertaining. A level of intrigue as to how good the kids are but not "entertainment" |
