Theres a difference between a 33 year old and a 27 year. Cheap is different when you are talking 1 million to 4-5 million. Kane makes 5.25 as a 20 goal scorer. Would you pay Granlund 5 million plus after the season he just had?

Kane was overpaid on his current contract without a doubt, but then again so was Andrew Ladd, who is of similar stature imo.

Add Vanek to that his entire career.
Problem is talking about oldie moldies & Kane r apples n oranges.
Ladd & Vanek both underperformed on their contracts & Kane is 26yrs old & will get a contract more inline with his earning power.

I think that will be the 4th line this year.
