I can't believe people are so silly. You are passing along info you have gotten. The Sabres even thought they still were going to get Butcher. People understand that this involves two sides, right? Sabres want to sign Gretzky, but does he want to sign with us?

LOL what? The Sabres have two star centers and 6 NHL d men and an above average goalie. The devils have Corey Schneider and not much else
- jcragcrumple

I know we don't have anything besides Cory Just Hall, Palmz, Mojo, Henrique, Zacha and one of the most promising prospect pools in the league led by Hischier and McLoed let's be honest Eichel is good but he will never live up to the hype and O'Reilly is good but not a star center

I was generally asking. I don't remember anything on Pommer before the trade.

I remember posting that Pommer might be included when we heard we were making a deal with Minny, but that was a guess.

Been there....

Done that....

Didn't really get us anywhere...

You can't guarantee they turn out the way they initially project.

Well........ Tim Murray might be a slight reason for that.

Even if you look at a good portion of the guys that didn't get to play for the Sabres, things didn't really work out to well for a good portion or are still struggling.

But yes, Murray didn't help the cause any either.

before Housley was hired, I said I heard Bots had interest in getting Pommer back

they were linemates in Rochester, and he loved everything Jason brought to the team

Hall and his 53 points last year ROR had 55 in the same amount of games
Henrique and his 40 points Hell Reinhart had more than that
Zacha might be good...but theres still lots to learn there

Schnieder had his worst season as a pro last year, hopefully he bounces back but if he doesn't it wont be pretty

Then there's Eichel for the Sabres..he is better than good, he missed 21 games and still had more points than anyone on the Devils, and averaged almost a PPG

The Devils are seriously lacking center depth and it's the one position the Sabres seem to be solid on.

This is like Murray almost, wants 0 players from the previous regime.

A 4th in '19? For a guy who wasn't able to play 1 regular season snap?

Remove your head from Pegula's incompetent butt and wake up to the world outside of Buffalo. The Devils have a solid core going after these past few drafts, 1 of them being #1 overall pick this year in Hischier. The acquisition of Taylor Hall, Marcus Johannson, Kyle Palmeiri, Cory Schneider to name a few.

Both teams are hovering around mediocre in the standings but the futures are bright. Buffalo just has a sore spot for NJ from what it seems. Not sure why considering we aren't rivals in any way. I've never understood it.

Hischier, Zacha, McLoed just to mention a few think our Center depth will be just fine

Outside of Hischier there is not top end talent there

Also many scouts aren't sure if Nico plays center in the NHL.

I get that he is build for a 3-4 but they couldn't have gotten a roster player for him? Say a team with a ton of WR's?

Oh well

Not at all.

One of your fellow posters came in here to stir up sh!t.

The only thing the blog said was Butcher would have a better chance to make the NHL this year with New Jersey which is true.

One of your boys couldn't take that.
