I know your stance with Sedins. But now you stray off what was being talked about. Like the conditions needed now for team to develop beyond them. Take the word echo out as it was only mentioned once as complimentary to what you posted. Both independently derived. So let's not put oxygen into someone else's shade throwing.

Not a lot of centers that get their start on the wing, really ever get back to center. Galchenyuk can't seem to get it down. While Seguin skates at a 1C, a lot of people consider him still a RW lining up down the middle - Eakin and Spezza have spent a lot of time split between him and Benn. Kessel never got back to center after being drafted. Johansson, Teravainen, 18 yo Sam Bennett, etc. I doubt Willie Nylander will find himself at as a center at the NHL.

Guys like Gagner, Hertl and Coyle are not the norm. Usually once guys come in on the wing they end up staying there before long. And even then, all three of those guys take as many or more shifts as wingers than they do as centers.

- Lindenis#1

Guess it depends on team need where they keep their talent playing. Example Draisatl plays more on the wing but there is no controversy he's not a center.

Agree the odds work in favor of staying on wing given there are only 4 spots as opposed to 8. EP is playing on wing last couple years with men. Plus with WJC team. So he may wing it there entering NHL level. But staying depends on his development plus team needs.

Remember Linden being moved to Center from wing as he bulked up. Yes he had to learn it which made it harder for him. But EP says he likes the middle better to create. So there's that.

Thats the outlook indeed.
Lets not over analyze prematurely & simply let the season play out.

This is classic BS reality twisting. In fact, if you were ever a truthful poster you would acknowledge the good with the bad. But you only have one ethos. Sh!tdisturb. Congrats you got a reaction out of me. Carry on. I'm moving on.

Look enough. Like I said for me be agreeing would mean I need to read your posts and most times I don't . You always have to push the limit. I read some of your stuff but not as much as you think do
- VANTEL

I hope you don't take this as an argument or pushing anything really. Just conciliation. I'm kind of laughing at the circle on agreement here. I know you brush over posts at times. Kind of why I chose the word echo to add on to both compliment what you said, as in agreement to you, and let you know I just posted similar notions. Not that you copied me. So, perplexed why the shade, and my response to it, from another poster would influence you later. You are an independent shoot from the hip guy. Respect. Okay.

Subject of PTO's and signing a vet that can get flipped at TDL was brought up here:

https://canucksarmy.com/2...to-a-professional-tryout/

I got the same neutral reaction to it as suggestion of signing Vanek.

But anyone think if Pirri, Purcell or Winnek would be better?

I kind of liked Pirri last off season. But not so much now with Gagner signed on.

I have been on the move the Sedins for years and years , I am not echoing no ones posts. That is all I am saying.

If we happen to have a same agreement fine but I am not echoing someone else.

No offence or malice intended but you were labelled as a top talent assessor by a fellow HB poster, and now an independent thinker that knows what's best for the Canucks holy (frank), good god almighty. You're a magnet Vantel, what can I say, when at the picnic I will have to bow in your presence.

If folks really want to stop intentional tanking then how about creating some type of relegation rule. Having a tier-2 league would be so cool. Smaller NA markets could climb that ladder to the NHL and poopty NHL teams get sent down.

No ego-maniac owner wants to see his investment lose value so they would fight tooth and nail not to be the team relegated.

It would be next to impossible to enact but it sure would be fun. It's also a way to expand your NHL footprint or world hockey market share.

Tier 1 - NHL
Tier 2 - AHL
Tier 3 - ECHL

- bloatedmosquito

Just want to point out the flaws in this...
ALL the leagues are separate entities.
All the teams don't have NHL acceptable rinks.
Travel would be a nightmare.
Who wants to see Kalamazoo etc in the PO's.

Otherwise its a long range maybe at best 😂😂

You could try that and it would create more pressure to succeed or spend money on team. But easiest thing to do is eliminate the draft.

Eliminate the draft serves what purpose exactly & looking to achieve what?

I think it's hard to blame a coach for putting the players he see's as giving you the best chance to win in positions to win.
That's their job. To win games, nothing else.
Maybe TG will be different, but when it's his job on the line and his chance to develop a track record that may impact future job opportunities...i would not bet on it.

- dbot

A coach's job is self preservation.
Make the PO's then the cup.
How they get there is less relevant.
How long it takes is another story but he can only make lemonade from lemons.
I'd bet on a coach who is practicable & tuned into the situation is smart.

You ever watch European Footbal, all the leagues are separate entities, all the stadiums are different from club to club, you would have a bit more travel for sure, and if by some miraculous feat Kalamazoo made it too the PO's....well yup I would watch.

I watched Leicester go from promotion to winning the title in the same year, the team I support seats 80,000 plus, Leicester seats 32,000.

What a Cinderella story, bring on promotion and relegation.

Relegation can make for fan excitement but greedy NHL owners put business safety over product improvement.

Yup...pussies drive down entertainment.

Could add a hard cap is problematic for relegation. Why eliminating the draft would help with teams trying to improve by adding rather then dive into failure.
