I'm excited for Bogosian's bounce back season.
....until game 15 when the groin gives it the ol' tear.
Seriously, he's been in the league 8 years under 4 different coaches. His story has been written. Shelter him and attempt to move him in a year. |

Watching / Streaming Sabres game question:
I live in Buffalo, dont pay for Cable.
Are my only options:
1. Get Cable
2. Get NHL Gamecenter and VPN (change my location)
3. Links online (spotty)
?
Does anyone else do anything creative to get this to work? SlingBox (at friends house)? How about having a FiOS login, can I stream games with that? - Lilroot9
Get an ad blocker and use ifirstrowus.eu, I never have issues finding a feed. They can freeze or skip here and there, but a quick refresh does the trick. |

PREACH!
God damn I hated Disco..how many times was I on here saying that Disco's system was (frank)ing useless only to be shouted down by people blaming the NHL caliber players for being too stupid to understand the system |

So is Bylsma, yet he's talked about daily.
What if some of our good players don't fit Housley's system?
We seem to be overly confident Housley is Superman already. And I like Housley, he was my #1 choice.

Both Bogosian & Girgensons are what they are right now. I could see a slight uptick in production from Bogo but that's only if he doesn't get hurt....chances are he's playing 65 games this year so let's just accept that off the hop.
Girgensons is not a skill player, he's a role player. I have him pegged in at 4th line LW with Josefson ahead. I've heard from a few Jersey fans now that Josefson is sneaky underrated and is very nimble/quick and has good instincts (and can score in the shootout).
We Sabres fans have to accept some of the truths about this roster no matter who is coaching it. Our bottom 6 is still very weak especially if Reinhart plays 1RW and Bailey/Baptiste do not perform. It could be this team's downfall. The defense still does not have enough depth either. If Bogosian gets hurt, Scandella gets hurt, or god forbid Ristolainen for extended periods we are doomed.
BUF needs a Toronto season where nearly everything goes right and guys hit record years with no injuries. It could happen but it's a long shot -- hence why most projections have us finishing 6th and 7th in ATL. |

This.
Except I do believe Girgensons has a little more to offer, not a ton, but a little. |

I agree I could see him score maybe 10 goals as a tweener. He needs to stay healthy and play smart. I see him starting with J.J and Bailey opening night. |

Then I'd hope he's smart enough to recognize it and make some tweaks, unlike past regimes where constant line shuffling in the same system that is not working posed as "coaching", Dude. |

he put up 30 points in 61 games as a 21 year old under nolan
if given a larger role, 40-45 points is not unrealistic if he played 80 games |

2nd line LW maybe? Or RW if Sam is moved to center, or Carolina? |

I think the second line LW spot is up for grabs
wouldn't shock me if girgens gets it, pouliot, nylander or a focused moulson

Not saying bogo is awesome, but as our depth chart falls now is a top 4 guy, how many teams would be fine losing half of their top six, including their number 1 guy.
I get we don't have amazing depth, but I don't know many teams that could survive losing half their d core to injury.

Agree training camp should be competitive. Only thing locked in stone might be the top 5.
Evander-Jack-Sam
Pouliot-ROR-K.O
Moulson-Larsson-Pommy (Minnesota line; Slow, but a true shut-down line)
Girgensons-Josefson-Bailey (Speed)
Me thinks Nylander needs 1 more year in Roch. |

My bad I didn't mean those simultaneous, more like throughout the year. If Bogo plays his usual 50 games, if Scandella misses 10, if Bealieau or McCabe miss games....we could potentially be in trouble. I guess it goes without saying and the Leafs had less depth than us last year and made it through without injuries. But it just seems every year Buffalo gets wrecked with d-man injuries so I'm anticipating it. |

Scandella seems to miss around 8-10 games per year, but thankfully that's on the left side, and would slide Guhle into the lineup somewhere, but if Risto got hurt.....Oh boy.
Bogosian playing top line RHD is scary |
