These moves are definitely puzzling. Especially the Seymour trade. Shareece Wright better be able to play or they will be calling Justin Rogers.

7-9, 9-7 not really a big difference between the 2.

These past few moves are ticky tack. Kevon Seymour? Reggie Ragland? 2 guys that wouldn't be playing very much this year. Seymour maybe more than Ragland, but still, not cornerstones like Darby and Watkins(should've been, but probably wouldn't have been).

I'm not condoning the approach, just saying that the tear down side of things tends to be a little disagreeable. We sure do have a lot of draft picks over the next two seasons, I'd count that as building in some sense. Hopefully we're more of an Oakland and less of a Cleveland with how we draft.

They have like 4 All-Stars(Laine, Scheifele, Wheeler, Byfuglien) a guy who probably could be in Trouba, and an up and comer in Ehlers, and don't write off Bryan Little and Perreault either, and yet, they just can't get out of their own way.

Hopefully Mason will bring some sense of talent to their goaltending, but stable he is not.

That said, if the Sabres don't improve this year, they're at the top of the list.

Their problem is one of depth. After their awesome forwards they have Marko Dano and Nic Petan, Adam Lowry, Sean Matthias, Andrew Copp. Chris Thorburn played 64 games last year FFS! And their defense after their top 3 is vomit inducing, even more so than the Sabres. Myers doesn't count because he's played like 14 games the past 2 seasons. And Enstrom is going downhill fast, he can't stay healthy either. He's played 72+ games twice in the past 6 years and the lockout year he played in less than half the games(22).

They need to figure something out quick, or they're going to be the team that is 6th in GF, but 27th in GA for the foreseeable future.
