Marcel Dareus came into the bar/restaurant I work at yesterday
Drank sprite & water
Ordered smoked wings, crab legs & scallops
If we were to cut him...
we still get crushed with that dead Cap space though, right?
We should be able to trade him at least |

if they can't trade him, cut him now while the roster will be full of entry level contracts next year
the cap means nothing for the next few years if they are tanking |

Right now his contract is impossible to move. Trade or cut, way too much dead money for next year. |

Those were my thought too
F it... trade him & take the cap hit
Some combo of McCoy, Hughes, incognito, Clay, etc...
can be moved for Cap room next year |

You cant. He would have nearly a 40 million (38.6) dead cap hit. No way can they afford that. Only the browns can. And I think it was a signing bonus, which means the Bills would need to pay it even if they traded him. It is an immovable contract. |

they will probably have 30 players on entry level deals next year
they can easily afford the cap hit
they wont be good next year if they are tanking this year, it will take 3 years to start to turn the ship around |

In light of Edelman’s injury, a league source said the Patriots and recently retired Anquan Boldin had mutual interest in bringing Boldin to New England this offseason, and he remains intrigued by the possibility. But the point is likely moot. Boldin signed with the Bills, and was placed on Buffalo’s reserve/retired list Aug. 22. That means the Bills retain his rights, and they would need to release him in order to let him sign with the Patriots. That sort of cooperation from a division rival doesn’t seem likely.
Not gonna happen plus its a "league source" another league source told Jerry Jones Elliott wouldn't get suspended, not to mention the Pats just traded for another WR - Stripes77
Yeah, but his suspension should be vacated until Goodell can hear all the facts. The woman who was the co-author of the investigation and suggested no suspension for Elliot was locked out of the meeting with Goodell when the facts were presented to him. There were definite shenanigans going on. Just when you think they(the NFL) can't (frank) up any worse they go ahead and (frank) up worse. |

why the (frank) would you let gillislee go then ...
what - gerbe75pts
Because he's not worth the insane money New England paid him. We've been over this. Neither is Hogan. The Pats can afford to overpay decent, but not great, players because so many take huge pay cuts to play there. |

This is a Sabres blog and sometimes I get annoyed when people jump off topic, so then I have to read through a bunch of movie critiques, or kale smoothie jokes. But cutting Jonathan Williams makes absolutely no sense whatsoever! Regardless of if we're tanking or not (which obviously, we are) why get rid of a 5th round RB that's making 750k, that won't help us win if we're trying to tank, OR won't make a difference if we're trying to win. He's just a cheap, above average RB that we had under contract for 3 more years at a minimal cost! Sure, they can go out and get another one that might be as good and cheap, but why even create another freaking hole?
I'm all in for tanking, but you don't have to get rid of solid, cheap players that don't make much difference in the won't/loss column, and could still be useful if we happen to get good in 2 years.... I really was excited about this new regime, but they are making decisions that just do not make any sense; regardless of tanking or not! Geez!
There will surely be people saying calm down, it's just a backup RB, and I know. But my point is, you keep guys like that during a tank for reasons I already stated. Beane/McDermott better start giving us paying customers some freaking answers. And if it's "they didn't fit our scheme", or anything like that, well that's not a good sign. Williams was the PERFECT RB for a zone blocking scheme, and looked great in the preseason.
Sorry this is so long, but I'm very confused and pi$$ed off because I really am starting to think those new guys at OBD don't have a clue! - Dukey3030

Not sure...
But I believe Webb has more talent
Even keeping them both wouldn't be the worst idea
At least until Tyrod &/or Yates get healthy |

Well, I'm just saying we do indeed have more than one healthy QB. |
