Powers suggested Rosi isn't 100%, could be we don't have the full story there. Maybe Rosi's played his last game already. - walleyeb1
Absolutely Rosi was more of an pre expansion deal to qualify and maybe he now goes on IR or on his way to his job as translator...
For those who think Seabrook is not a good skater, ha! he is gonna look more like a pretty good fluid one next to Franson.

Nash traded for him two seasons ago and didn't use him in the playoffs. In fact, they benched him before the end of the season to play Yannick Weber. - TTtime
I don't care for Franson much, but Nashville did use him in the playoffs - 5 of the 7 games. I remember specifically because he was the interview in between periods of game 2 in Bridgestone and the dudebros behind me kept talking about how big he was. And tbf Nashville did want to sign him after that, they just didn't want to pay him what Buffalo offered (which was the right call, totally not worth $3m+).
And Franson did not want to go back to Toronto, who also did reportedly offer him a $4m contract (according to Friedman, I want to say). He played during their 2013 playoff run too because I remember he scored two goals but was on the ice for like 3-4 against in the game 7 against Boston. I don't think Franson has been completely benched for an entire playoffs before, but he has sat games for sure.
Franson is a lumbering, slow skater who somehow has good shot metric stats and can score. I don't really know how it works and I never really wanted to find out with him on the team, but this is where we are. As long as his contract (if he actually signs) can be fully buried, it's whatever. Q is fine with d-men being a bit slower as long as they're not stupid, so hopefully he'll be able to either use Franson to minimize his shortcomings skating-wise or he'll have him sent away. |

So any one notice that Fox sports mobil has taken down the listings for the prospect games tomorrow? Any idea how to stream these now? |

meh. He still isn't good. He averages ~5 goals/years. 3 at EV. He gives the puck away far more than he takes it away. He takes a lot of shots with a low SH%. For all the talk of his shot metrics(not you btw), he has been on the ice for more against than for.
Lumbering is generous. Its just not foot speed. His transitions are slow.
Let's just hope he gets outplayed in camp and is sent on his way.
tbf, he does generate points on the PP. FWIW. |

If Franson is playing next to Seabs, then this team is in BIG TROUBLE! |

I wasn't commenting on how good/bad he was, just that he had played in the playoffs and wanted to be kept by teams that had him before. Doesn't mean much though. |

The whole Franson PTO thing...it is just a PTO. I'm sure the Hawks won't sign him if he can't contribute. Franson is still an 15 minute per night dman at the NHL level. I think he can play a physical style if that is the coaches direction (nearly 300 hits a few years ago with Toronto). The bottemline will come down to what kind of money Franson wants and how he shows at camp. Nothing to lose on the PTO. |

That is 100% not true, and all his stats back it up. I don't even watch a ton of Franson, but he's good enough to be a 5/6D on any team. It's hilarious to watch you guys bash him when literally all his numbers are positive and he has a positive effect on possession and his D partners. |

Ditto to that. Btw, Bingo, thanks for your thoughts on where Lindholm will play. The Canes have a good top 6-7. - AEL_Fox

By your logic the below all suck as well (sub 50% corsi last season):
Campbell
Anisimov
Hossa
Hinostroza
Hjarlmarsson
Kero
Motte
Oduya
Panik
Schmaltz
Tootoo
Motte
We might as well throw in the towel before the season even starts
