Ruuta is 27! Not merely 22-24 with European league experience. He reportedly is athletic. Shouldn't take him but half a season, if that, in AHL to adjust. He could probably get by now with his skill and skating + we just do not know whom embraces and incorporates Samuelson coaching ahead of the others. A different style of defense might stand out, overall, from this team. Forwards have a role in that too.

But returning to Ruuta, could be a sleeper. Maybe Kampf is better than we guesstimate. Now here perhaps the injured Rozy helps them adjust to life + NHL hockey.

DeBrincat putting up points in Traverse City means one thing: more ammunition to give him a longer look. While he is likely to get a ticket for Rockford for starting out, you never know. Any injuries and no harm in 9-10 gp look....but not fair perhaps to him and team if he is not put on a top line.

You never know with those natural goal scores ,Dino Bossey to name a few that nobody thought much of . Not saying the Cat will turn out that way ,but Cannot teach goal scoring .. I was not that impressed with the limited games I seen of him , but maybe he was getting a little bored with Jr hockey

Its amazing that all the experts on here speak so lowly of a guy that just scores tons of goals. So much negative stuff about Cat, and he just scores goals whenever he plays. Lets at least wait to pass judgement on the guy.

Been in the OHL forever, but is still only 21. Has gotten better every year, but nothing earth shattering. He's organization depth in my view.

Kampf has seemingly done well at the prospects tournament. Not sure where he fits, but it's good to see some new faces showing up. Raddysh also acquitting himself well thus far. Want to see these guys against the big boys, not just other prospects, most of who will not be playing NHL hockey this year.

Pierre Pilote, a former Blackhawks captain and defenseman who helped the franchise hoist the Stanley Cup in 1961, died Saturday night. He was 85.
