I've had a Prius for 10+ years now, love it, my gas bill is like $40 every week and a half and I drive from Maple Ridge to Richmond for work 5 days a week. I have no complaints. - DariusKnight
No clue how far maple ridge to richmond is.
Quick google search. Estimate 50 km. Takes an hour. That sucks.
My old lady was driving 75km each way. Only took her about 40 minutes. Putting $50 in the jetta every 2 weeks. All highway, no stopped traffic. Straight cruising 110 km/h for her though. |

Mazda seems like a safe pick. I'm hearing Toyota's quality ratings have really been dipping and customer treatment/satisfaction as well. Buddy of mine leased a brand new Tacoma here last year and has nothing but issues with it especially with recalls. He is not happy with the responses and services.
Don't know much about the KIA. - LordHumungous
Thanks for this. Some have also told me that Toyota's especially their pickups are hard on gas but I guess that's more about perspective. Those Tacoma's and Tundra's are big vehicles with big engines. You got to expect them to be heavy on fuel. |

Never had an issue with Toyota, at least here in Maple Ridge, all my cars I've ever bought were from them and my next one will likely be a Highlander or Sienna. Mazda's are ok, but they are service intensive if you intend to drive long distances constantly. KIA's are cheap, that's about all I can say for them. - DariusKnight
To you and SRam: Highlander is a beast as I mentioned earlier. It ain't as pretty but it's a truck with a SUV body. I was surprised that the interior wasn't more plush. Very truck like and a bit plastic.
But the engine is reported to be as solid as it can. |

If he can score 15 goals while being a physical presense and not being fat enough where he can barely skate, he could be a successful power forward.Who said anything about a grinder? - Codes1087
CanuckDon
I don't think Jake is big enough to be a true power forward. He is only 6'1, 210. He needs to revamp his game into being a grinder that can chip in 10-15 goals per season. I still think he can be a solid 3rd liner if he can learn to work hard and not be p$ssy.
Codes1087
Jamie Benn is 6'2, 210lbs. Lucic 6'3, Tom Wilson 6'4. I think he needs to do exactly what you mentioned above, be able to play a physical game, but also chip in 10-15 goals. |

It's Jakes frame though...Bo has a power forwards build, Jake does not. That is my point. Also, his shoulder issues appear to be a problem as well - CanuckDon
It's going to be hard to find a spot in the lineup, with teammates who can compliment his style of play. TBH - another year in Utica isn't going to do any harm for Jake. |

We looked at KIA/Hyundai but felt the re-sale value was pretty small given their history. Both have made huge strides though in their cars/suvs - Codes1087
Good point! But I have a history of driving cars into the dirt. They literally fall apart on me so resale has never really been a thought. But my boys are getting older and I guess cars will start to come and go more frequently than before. |

I honestly have no idea what to do with the kid. You are right, who can play with a north south player that lacks creativity? Because of his lack of offensive awareness I think he is destined to be a bottom 6 player. |

even dating back to junior days, he was listed as a player with little to no creativity who just plays a straight line game. Who would want to play with that kind of player lol. |

I would say that Bo's 6'-0", 223lbs is a bit small for a true power forward but I see your point because Bo likes to power towards the net. |

Out of the ones you narrowed it down to, I'd say the Mazda. Looks the best and Mazda has a good rep when it comes to reliability. |

I have a player like that on my beer league team and I refuse to play with him He has injured several of his linemates because all he can do is go really fast and crash into people. He is a larger Jake. Skate real fast and wire it and that's it |

Mazda has their turbo diesel coming out at the end of this year too. If I could have waited, and if I had the disposable income to cash in on an SUV like that, I would have probably pick that up (mind you its going to be insanely expensive) |

What happened to the self-imposed exile?
Are you just here to enjoy the fresh air while the antagonist is banned?
How about those Canucks? |

In his rookie season in 55 games he scored 7g, 6a, 13pts, 45 pims. That's not bad in an extremely limited role.
I don't know where you get "his lack of offensive awareness ". Because of this AHL/Junior stats? |

You're forgetting that he's local too, that counts for something in my books. |

Cheers. I grew up in a time where Toyota's always had top ratings in every category so I hope that their decline ain't true.
saying that, I'm probably going to go with the Mazda because it's a safe pick and it has a bit more style.
I'm not old enough yet to be immune to vanity. |

Meh, I just bought a minivan.
Next year it's either a crew cab truck or a 4Runner. |

I'm not disputing Don. I'm just curious to know where he's drawing his opinion from.
I don't care if he's fat or if he's lazy. If he scores and provides some grit and wants to make lots of money in the NHL then I'm happy too. All indications is that he has the tools to do that, based on his NHL stats.
Sometimes I wonder how much of the 'old ways' get in the way of developing the modern young hockey player. |
