Save your hate for canuck management and ownership, not their prospects.

Virt will be fine.

I think Jake is getting it, but like any 20 something kid (in life for that matter) there will be bumps along the road. I think we have heard him say the right things, but at a certain point maturity catches up with you and you understand your actions define you not your words. He will make the team this year and will have a 3rd line impact, or at least that is my prediction. I think he can grow into a 2nd line power forward who plays with edge and gives room to the more skilled forwards on his line. He has an NHL shot and if he can get in position to shoot a lot he could put up 10-15 goals this year I believe TG wants him to succeed. Therefore he will be given many chances to be a productive player, and work his way up to a consistent offensive threat. I think if put with a guy like Gagner he could have a nice run.

I feel that if JV can reach his potential. He's probably going to have similar stats to Chris Kreider and Evander Kane. Avg. PPG for the two of them are 46 and 49 over an 82 game season. Neither of them have played a full season. Kane is usually around 70 games. Kreider more in the mid 70's.

Both Kane and Kreider to me are good 2nd line power forwards.

Virtanen knows what it takes to make the 3rd line in Utica.

Somewhere between Wayne Simmonds and Tom Wilson and that's a win for Benning the bonehead.

I think Virtanen can be a Corey Perry type. He's looking good and doing all the right things. I'm optimistic. 👍👌🙏

If he can turn into Wilson that would be amazing.

He needs to start watching 100X more tape though.

Dustin Brown had 7 good seasons. Pretty good for a player who plays the way he does. Even with his 4 down seasons he still has a career avg of 42 ppg over a 82 game season. He is past his prime and his latest contract sucks. before when he was scoring 55 a season and only making 3.175

Seeing some of the pictures posted on twitter of the Group A practice. Goldobin looks so thin compared to these guys.

Hey guys,

I'm home from Penticton and will have a new blog for you shortly!

In the meantime, please head over and check out my latest project. I've just launched a new sports column for the Westender called "Goal Posts." My first piece is a closer look at the long list of new veterans hitting the ice today for the first day of training camp:

he might just be a slimmer framed guy compared to the rest. Sedins were twigs in their rookie season. It wasn't until I saw a game from ice level a couple seasons ago where you realize the Sedins are actually pretty big.
