Flyers leading by Jan 1st is a huge long shot but not impossible. We all have seen what a young group in Toronto was able to accomplish.

In order for this to happen Neurvirth\Elliot will need to be good, Young guns(Provorov, Ghost, Konecny, Weal, Couturier, Frost, Vecchione, Patrick and Ratcliffe, Hagg and Morin will need to be big contributors) and Giroux and Voracek will need to rebound as well.

Stop what? I agreed it was unlikely and wrote why. Stars basically have to align for them to lead. I am not sure what was hard for everyone to understand. It is like people just see that I am a Flyer fan and that automatically makes me a homer. I know chances are that the Flyers will miss the playoffs and I want them to. This years draft is supposed to be good. I just realize there is always that 1% chance they could make it. If someone said the 2010 Flyers would go to the Cup final with Leighton in Net, they would be called an idiot. Despite the odds, they made it there and had they scored in OT we would have seen Flyers and Hawks in Game 7 for the SC
