To be fair, assuming the team is healthy, the Canucks 4th line this year should be a lot better than the trash WD had, which was basically an all AHL line that he still played upward of 9-10 minutes some games - Nucker101

Just so we understand your position, you believe Subban has a better shot at the NHL than Virtanen? Please confirm - CanuckDon
Maybe if Subban is the 4th forward on the PP |

Anyone else notice Green's comment "We talked about playing the 4rth line big minutes"?
This should be interesting after all the outrage about 4rth liners while WD was here... time to start winding up the usual suspects. - boonerbuck
I think there is a huge difference in what WD or TG consider a 4th line.
WD played the plugs & TG wants a real NHLer to earn the spot. |

This thread needs a massive change of subject.
Let's go PK.
Last season
Sbisa, Edler, Tanev, Sutter, Horvat, Tryamkin, ERiksson, Granlund.
Upshall was 3rd in forwards for St. Louis.
Gagner, White, Burmistrov didn't play on the PK. MDZ played a little.
PK unit 1: Sutter, Eriksson, Edler, Gudbranson
Pk unit 2: Horvat, Upshall, Tanev, Hutton

You want Stecher or MDZ? Hutton had 106 blocked shots last season. |

It would be a pleasant surprise if Upshall makes the team and strengthens our4th line and PK. He has to be better than Magma and Chaput? |

I'd say he is, he's pretty solid defensively on the PK. Kinda useless offensively, but at least he provides something.
Keep him away from Virtanen though... |

What if we try Upshall, Virt and Subban as our fourth line? |

Upshall likes to "sniff" quite a bit |
|

Did you watch them play at all last year? Subban was flat out better for the Comets. Doesn't mean he'll become a NHL player but i'm starting to question if either you really watch the games or if you know how to make obvious observations when watching hockey. - Nucker101

Well you didn't add much value, just a chirp that I won't bother responding to. You said Subban was better in Utica than Virt. So? Not disputing that at all. Regardless of their play in Utica, Virtanen will be more likely to carve out an NHL career. |
