One is likely a career AHLer the other a true prospect.
JV has what it takes if he goes for it 100%. - Nighthawk
I saw a big improvement in him last season. Looking more like a potentially decent Dman. Previously he didnt look like 1 at all. So there is hope for him yet.
Green and nolan sure transformed him
Agreed on Subban, I think they should try him out at wing tbh.
I really think people here have JV's realistic upside confused with what they think is his floor, not many guys with his lack of development since being drafted end up become even good 3rd liners. I'd say at best that's what he's going to become now. At worst, he's out of the league and in the AHL or bouncing around to a few different organizations as a reclamation project. - Nucker101
Ive been saying that very same thing for the last 2 years.
But his game has become more like a D recently. Still bet he'd light it up as a winger
I absolutely agree regarding Subban. I don't think he will ever defend at an NHL but he certainly has potential up front. I got roasted earlier for saying something similar re. Virt lol.
I am slightly more positive about Virtanen than you...but only slightly - CanuckDon

Maybe his brother should give him some pointers and teach him how to play defense... you'd think he'd learn from him at least...
Where's this stacked defensive depth chart that people keep referring to in terms of Subban being passed over?
None of those bums, with the exception of McEney, have played against men. Very few of them even looked good in the young stars tourney for Christ sakes lol.
