Labs are dumb as a box of rocks, only until it comes to figuring out how to eat things they're not supposed to, like opening your wallet and pulling the money out to eat it. My cousin lost a 20 a few singles and half of another 20 before he learned he had to put his wallet up away from where the dog could get it.

My Lab must be a super-genius then... He barks when the water is out. Opens the frigging door to get out, learned to bark quite (no sound but his mouth moves)for a treat. and used to open the frig.. (not good)

My dog busted out of our house through a 8 inch wide screened window and leaped over the gas grill on the porch....less than 12 hours after getting spayed and still groggy from anesthetic. She's a 60 pound border collie. Her nickname is Houdini. She also chewed through our locked garbage can a couple times. She may be the smartest female in our house though.

WHatever im tired of this stuff, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they are paid athletes to do a job, and paid handsomely to do it. If he cant handle a few months of trade talks in season. Well thats on him and not the organization to pandering to him to make him feel better.

Even today, he grabbed his equipment after ice seasons and changed somewhere else instead of being around the media. Yeah lets go on and on about how Avs are doing him dirty. Act like a player who is under contract and not on borrowed time.

I think this is a good post.

Avs are my West team, always have been since the relocation. I'm baffled by the organization as a whole the past few years, but Sakic isn't completely innocent here, either... though shouldering way too much of the blame.

Every single GM knows Sakic is in a no win situation now. McCabe and a 2nd for Duchene is all I would offer and see how long Sakic holds out.

I wouldn't add 6mil on this roster and I also wouldn't trade Mccabe until we know what we have with Antipin, Beaulieu, and even Borgen.

The Sabres don't have a dman quite like McCabe, and as you know, dmen are hard to come by. We already have 2 guys that have similar skill sets to Duchene (Nylander and Middlestadt), and will be here for longer than 2 years (Duchenes has 2 years left) and they will be much cheaper. So adding his 6 mil - even for only 2 years would be difficult and put us in cap hell, when we have 2 guys, combined at 1/3 the price, plus we don't have to trade away anything to get them like obviously we would to aquire Duchene.

Columbus is willing to give up a 1st and Ryan Murray anyways, so I doubt Sakic would want McCabe and a 2nd over Murray and a 1st.
