Hopefully the time change screws them up for a month and they start 0-8

The Sedin's would certainly latch onto that excuse. |

Decent goaltender but I won't miss him.
I sure hope Demko eventually works out because I think we are in for a poop storm in net over the next few seasons. |

I think it's stupid but that's my opinion. Going into countries where there is not a chance in hell the league is going to have teams seems like a colossal waste of time & energy. Not to mention the adjustments of flying back and forth from Asia for the players. I've hated this gimmick from the beginning and am grateful our team is so poopty that it won't really impact the season. - Marwood
The sport is becoming popular in Asia now. Leagues are starting to form. They are at the grassroots but it is starting. |

the league and players can all profit from growing the game in China (even if there are no teams there). I think it's a great idea and the players should be honored to be going. it sucks that they will have some jet leg but they should harden up - CanuckDon
The players should be honoured for going?? WTF?
It's a gimmick. Get your own house in order before flaunting your product elsewhere. I think it's ridiculous. |

As Bloated mentioned, the hospitality is probably fantastic. It's a businness and all parties profit from growing the game in a major market like China |

Miller is still decent but that's where it ends. Per games played his numbers weren't any better than Marky's yet Miller got so much praise last season....a lot of those were 5 goal games + with 2-3 patented Miller muffins. I won't miss him either.
I think Demko is a winner but it's clear we can't rush him along at all. |

Just like the Rog - advantage Canucks.... - Fisticus
Poor Rog. It's not that bad when the fans have something to cheer for.
I remember an article in the Hockey News years and years ago that was about the first NHL experience for young rookies. I can't remember who it was but they mentioned their first NHL game/experience was at GM Place.
The player couldn't believe how loud and imposing GM Place was because of the way it's built. The crowd seemed like they were hanging over the ice. All very intimidating and the vet sitting beside him on the bench gave him the typical 'welcome to the NHL kid'.
If Roger's gets rolling it can be a great place for a hockey game. The Olympics and world junior tournaments can also attest to that. |

This article is on point it with what's unfolding now at camp.
http://nhl.nbcsports.com/...ke-the-leap-brock-boeser/
I'd add that skill players need their timing to show their offense and getting in games helps that. I don't think Rodin and Goldy prepared enough to get ahead this offseason. But BB's time at Da Beauty League is paying off after young stars warm up. JV on other hand just needed to stay committed to cardio and bring it to stand out. OJ is in toughest position having to show up in pace, timing and physically. His cerebral play won't shine unless in structered game flow. Dahlen has no real expectations this season other than adjust to NA game. But is a write off for now with mono recovery.
But all the above will be crucial for the rebuild this season. Whoever cracks the line up and has an impact out of camp or later in season will give a jolt to the turnaround.
