Chaput and Megna are actually decent in the AHL. And if Goldobin/Dahlen are legit NHL talents, they'll make those guys look better and carry a line, especially Goldobin who's entering his 3rd AHL season(most likely). Dahlen could probably use some help, but again, Megna/Chaput are 40+ point AHL'ers.

I think it's stupid but that's my opinion. Going into countries where there is not a chance in hell the league is going to have teams seems like a colossal waste of time & energy. Not to mention the adjustments of flying back and forth from Asia for the players. I've hated this gimmick from the beginning and am grateful our team is so poopty that it won't really impact the season.

The Vegas team was a mix of NHL/ AHL/ and junior players. Hence why our kids got smoked. Chaput scored 13 points in 10 games with the Comets last season while Magma averaged .64 pppg over his last two, full seasons in the AHL. Both of these guys are top 6 in the AHL. The Comets are fine.

I hope so, as you say, it sucks for developing players in AHL. Lind is a couple years away if they play him at C. The other two probably won't leave their leagues until NHL is a reality for them.

Yes their numbers were decent in AHL because there was no one else to score. But they got schooled by junior centers Glass and Suzuki. So I don't see them helping skilled better talented wingers develop as well. Why Comets will need a C upgrade stat.

I remember an article in the Hockey News years and years ago that was about the first NHL experience for young rookies. I can't remember who it was but they mentioned their first NHL game/experience was at GM Place.

The player couldn't believe how loud and imposing GM Place was because of the way it's built. The crowd seemed like they were hanging over the ice. All very intimidating and the vet sitting beside him on the bench gave him the typical 'welcome to the NHL kid'.

If Roger's gets rolling it can be a great place for a hockey game. The Olympics and world junior tournaments can also attest to that.
