Don't get me wrong, I'm realistic and see that the team isn't going to be staring down Crosby in June anytime soon, but I've put too much time into being a fan to give up now.

You can be a fan and not have blinders on, I think it's hilarious when people get their panties in a twist when a fan is pissed at the way the team he loves is being run. Like it doesn't take any care/passion to get that upset in the first place.

Part of being a true fan is being realistic. When Gillis didn't start tearing it down after the first round exit against San Jose, I knew it was going to be a painful few years.

The team lost it's mojo, and needed to be taken down right to the foundation, but instead "the core" was given another couple of seasons to meander into mediocrity.

Now finally there's some new blood taking over. Just wish that WD wasn't such an assclown and chased Tryamkin away.

Yeah, I think most fans knew the decline and dark days were coming, but I think the team did a horrible job of trying to make them go away faster, they tried to delay it and ironically, all they've done is extended the window of suckage by trying to "protect the kids". Sad part is that they had more protection than actual high quality prospects.
