My 2 concussions seemed innocent enough on appearance.
The 1st one i was x-checked head first into the boards & only a bit wobbly n dazed.
Afterwards it got weird.
The 2nd i was kneed in the head sliding into 2nd base.
I lay there & felt like i was very high. Got up in what seemed only a minute or 2 thinking i was all good til i started falling to right into a circle & landed on my ass & not knowing how it happened. It was like a boxer being out on his feet.
Are you saying Foote was their 1D? - bloatedmosquito
Not at all but he was prolly their best D before getting Duchesne in the Lindros deal then Bourque later on. Turned a very bad team into a great in a hurry the Lindros deal did.
I think it speaks volume about the pressure the player is facing from his team/coaching staff than it says about his knowledge and understanding of concussions. Sidney Crosby forced concussions to the fore-front of hockey injuries when he went down from the Stukel (I think) hit. I think concussions have never been more talked about in hockey since then. I think the league needs to take a pro-active stance on the importance of players lives, rather than decline to comment on lawsuits regarding CTE and how some high up league admins decline to see the connection between CTE and concussions. - Codes1087
I agree the NHL has to lead & do all they can for players.
The NFL is a sad sack example of deniabilty.
Not to linger on this subject but I think you are wrong about them drafting 1c/2c/1d.
But that depends on who you consider their 1c and 2c are and who their 1d was.
Based on my opinion their 2c was Forsberg and their 1d was Bourque. Not drafted by Colorado or Quebec. - bloatedmosquito
Ok if you are arguing sematics, Forsberg wore another jersey for an hour or so. It is a completely moot point. They built through the draft, including him. Ozylinch was always their 1c, until blake. He was drafted by San jose it turns out though so I was wring there. Not bourque. He played well for sure, but the guy was too over the hill to play 1d.

Remember, that team also picked up a 30 year old Rob Blake who only appeared in 13 games during the season but played every game in the playoffs and was their 4th leading scorer.

Well the numbers suggest differently. Bourque played 80 games that season, was the 6th leading scorer on the entire team, and his ATOI was 26:06. That lead the entire team until Blake got there with 13 games remaining.
You do realize that players that go on to be legit top 6 NHL'ers usually carry AHL lines/teams, right? If they need to be carried in the AHL, they're gonna suck in the NHL. Goldobin should be Utica's leading scorer while he's down there if he's truly a legit NHL player. Dahlen is pretty young, but again, if he's talented enough he should be able to produce at the AHL level while playing with decent linemates.
Not like they're being saddled with guys who are bottom 6 AHL players, those 2 can produce at the AHL level.
Calm down. These guys don't need Darren Haydar down there to succeed.

Chaput has a calder cup with CBJ's farm team doesn't he?
And Megna was always a consistent goal scorer/point producer in the AHL.
As fringe NHLers both Chaput & Megna will be more than solid to good AHLers in Utica. Experience needed to let the wingers develop & make the natural strides to the pro game. No worries here at all unless injuries force them on call ups.

Seems to me like combined between the two teams there is maybe enough to meet the needed criteria - Redmile247
Prolly right lol
I'm guessing Canucks get slack to put on a better show in China.
NHL wanting more of a showcase than a regular ex-game mish mashed rosters.
