Sabres are still the Rodney Dangerfield of the division until they actually start winning. Yahoo has us below the Bruins and Panthers which i think is ludicrous. We shall see - jcragcrumple
Like Buff19 said earlier. It's really hard to get a feel for how this team is going to do this year.
It's not even about Buffalo. It's about how the Maple Leafs have one good season, and all of the sudden they are the NHL's elite. - SDSabre
There was an article from the avs perspective where the writer said something Like "the avs think they can do what the Leafs did, be the worst team one season and a bona fide cup contender 2 years later"
We're supposed to believe they're cup contenders now?

They went into last year just looking to improve, which clearly they did. There's a lot more expectations on them now. Sometimes that can really weigh a team down. Guess we'll have to wait and see how they perform with the extra weight of the expectations.

This is the case that sort of sum's up the 4 factors the federal courts consider at this point. My paper analyzed how the courts have elaborated on the specific requirements that go into each factor and how the NY Court of Appeals has failed to reconcile NY State court case law (which is vague and unorganized) with the NY Federal court case law (which is explicit and clearly defined). Essentially a plaintiff going into a state court has a lot less certainty as to the ability to get personal jurisdiction under 302(a)(1) where as the same plaintiff in federal court can know with a very high probability which way the court will decide on personal jurisdiction before they even choose to initiate action.

Poor Pu.. just send him to the Juniors instead.. - IndianaSabresFan
I'm pretty sure he'll get sent back. I think they're really just letting him get a feel of the NHL so he knows what to really work on when he does go back.

if they gel, 95-100 points would not surprise me
if they have growing pains, would not be shocked if they are an 85 point team
this is assuming jack plays 75 plus games - homiedclown
I think they'll be ok as long as they stick to the game plan. During the game the other day, they stopped moving their feet and tried to do too much one on one. As soon as they started moving as a unit again they managed to take back control and score the tying goal.,

Tanner thinks that Matthews will win the hart....

If Toronto gets home-ice and/or deep into the playoffs and Matthews is in the Top 5 in scoring, I would think the Canadian media will vote heavily for him. It's not unthinkable.

Whatever on that, I think the Leafs are due to have some setbacks this year whether it's sophomore slumps, teams adjusting better against them, injuries, whatever...and when those things happen they are going to likely not handle it well because they are so young. Last year they had sooooo many things go right that their fresh-faced little ones faced almost no adversity, whereas our team had nothing but adversity last year and should be a little more strong mentally for it.

The playoffs won't have anything to do with it. The Awards are voted on prior to the Playoffs even taking place.
