Whatever on that, I think the Leafs are due to have some setbacks this year whether it's sophomore slumps, teams adjusting better against them, injuries, whatever...and when those things happen they are going to likely not handle it well because they are so young. Last year they had sooooo many things go right that their fresh-faced little ones faced almost no adversity, whereas our team had nothing but adversity last year and should be a little more strong mentally for it.

I think all of this could be a factor. Plus add in the fact that last year they didn't have any huge expectations really. So long as they improved, that was all that was expected. They exceeded the expectations. This year they could be weighed down by the expectations that are being heaped on them.

Bolded was a huge factor in the Leafs' favor last year. Not that I want to see players injured, but you'd think the pendulum will have to swing the other way.

Especially with how much D-men are valued, No way I'm making that trade. and Based on JB's history and how he likes to develop players I'd say it not really likely. stay the course draft D this year and keep building, I think we are a fring playoff team this year and 2 years from being contenders.
