I have lived in Memphis, Chicago, and Tampa. Each city has their own unique style and different things to do. I have never lived in Buffalo but I have visited and Buffalo was a fun town to visit. Obviously there are professional sports teams, bars/breweries, parks, cool music/art scene, good dining, and it's an easy city to navigate. I have never been a night club guy so I can't speak to that. I feel like if I grew up in Buffalo in my early 20's there would be enough things for me to do. I guess bright lights from places like Vegas or NYC can be appealing to some but you can do the same things in smaller cities just without the glamour. - doppelthat

Just happened to be where the house we liked was. And with the way the real estate market is, being able to get one you like can be tough right now. We just closed about 3 months ago. I've also moved way too many times over the last 15 years. I'm over it. Told him I'm not moving again for at least 30 years.

Also depends on the year it was built, newer houses are way more, I'm in North Boston and I pay 4200 on a 160,000 Home built in 94. over half is school tax.

That seems to be the part that makes it high everywhere for the most part. My house is also newer (2001) so I'm sure that's not helping our cause any.

They use Lottery money down here for schools.
Which is why we don't pay school taxes I believe. idk..

supposedly they do that here too... That must be why my little town of EDEN just got a new Turf Field, new grand stands and lights...for the football team that more often than not stinks.

Didn't you not even have a team last year because there weren't enough players?

WTF does that even mean?
A lot of people say that.
It makes no sense.
There are tons of bars, we have 2 "Big 4" professional sports teams, the Bandits, The Bisons, water for boating, snow for skiing/snowboarding, there're even beaches, such as they are, super cheap cost of living, lively neighborhoods, concerts and live music all over the place, very good to great colleges, tons of jobs... Seriously, what more could a young person ask for? - Wetbandit1
You guys are correct Buffalo is the bees knees for young people
