drew miller, john mitchell and mark stuart have been released from their PTOs - jt19
In no way is that surprising to me. they were invisible in the exhibition, except for Stuart getting turnstiled by kids. |

Expect an announcement on where Jaromir Jagr will play on 5th of October, per his agent.
Hossa's LTIR money being put to use?
Personally I highly doubt that and am not sure he's a fit, but the date of his decision caught my eye. - Hawksfan37
I don't see where Jagr would fit into the team, I wouldn't play him over Panik, Kane or Hartman. I would honestly rather let some of the other young kids get a shot before I'd sign Jagr. |

I think who plays 2C and 3C will be a Match Up game depending on the Team the Hawks are playing on a given night |

Not shocking. That clears the deck some. Thinking Franson sticks to give veteran leadership and help on PowerPlay some. |

With Wingels, Bouma, Hayden, Hino, Flipper, Mr. Meow, etc, Q is going to have a lot of options.
I still want to see if Wingels can revert to his prior form a bit, but that may be wishful thinking. He seems to have worked his way down the lineup. - ItHossaGood
Interesting Kampf is getting 2 games in a row. Dauphin is not. |

Jagr will sign with his hometown Czech league team to remain available at the mid-season TDL. I don't think he has had any offers worth his perceived value. - Return of the Roar
Slow-footed 1-way player these days. Doesn't fit the mold |

Not sure I'd read anything into that other than maybe Kampf impressed and coaches want to see him out there again. Dauphin I think was very solid last game and should draw back in next game.
I think they want to see Kampf again because they need a fourth line center who can kill penalties and win draws. Dauphin not strong on draws, maybe they sorta know what they have with him. A fourth line of Dauphin/Kampf/Hayden wouldn't hurt my feelings, unless Hayden slots higher. But I fear we'll have something like Bouma/Dauphin/Tutu come opening night. |

Be better to let Dolphin develop as a center more in Rockford with full time minutes than stick him on 4LW carousel. JMO |

Actually looks like Kampf is just filling in for the morning and Tazer will skate tonight.
EDIT: Wrong again, Toews is sick. |

Someone is getting a looooooong look at playing a top 6 role THIS YEAR, even if it means he starts the season in Rockford to adjust to the mens game and gain confidence. He could be a mid-late season call up that sticks thru the playoffs. |

Quotes not working
Madden was an excellent 4th line center, as was Kruger. Both won multiple cups. |

Couple things from watching the first preseason game with anticipating the second game tonight:
Love the new PK. The aggressive play on the players at the point is just what is needed. Forcing those playing to make a quick decision is so much better than watching the team sit back in a passive box. Thanks Ulf!!!
I am excited to see how Ruuta plays in this second game. I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly he adapted to the smaller ice surface. If he keeps this up as the competition level improves, the Hawks may have found something here. I know he is not exactly a rookie (27 yrs old) but still would be a good addition that I wasn't expecting.
The PP still stands around to much - I would like to see more movement, or just more passing to get players out of position. It did look like there was a commitment to get a man in front of the goalie though.
Last, it took me about two periods to realize that Panarin was playing that last game. He was invisible the whole game. As much as I liked him in a Hawk sweater, he did not look very good. |

It was only one preseason game against lower talent, but the PK certainly looked better and more aggressive.
Panarin's big move was getting called for hooking late in the game. Interested to see how he fares without Kane this season.
