Sorry I don't put a lot of faith into a preseason goal. Just because I am critical of a player doesn't mean I'm a hater. I hope he turns into a solid player but you can't ignore the fact it was a bad pick. Just like the year before when they take Smith over Raddysh.

Over-critical of a pick you didn't like. I hated the pick too, Rasmussen was the player in the top 15 projection I wanted least.

But saying "still a bust" about an 18 year old who is playing hockey for the first time after months off due to injury is definitely hating. Proclaiming a kid as a bust the moment he was drafted is hating.

Wasn't an issue his first junior season.

Also in the ~10 games before he got hurt his ES scoring was picking up, he had like 9 in 6 games or something.

His goal last night was a great display of his skillset, drive the net for a high danger scoring chance and tapped his rebound in while falling. I don't think he's a great pick or will be special but I'm not going to rule out him becoming a solid player at this point.
