From Todd Cordell
I can't help but wonder if the Flames are having second thoughts about their trade for Curtis Lazar. All summer we heard about how hard he was training and how he'd show up in camp a new player. To this point, that doesn't look to be the case.
He has no points and two shots in more than 40 minutes of ice, he's not driving play, and he struggled in the dot when given the chance at center. On a per game basis, Lazar ranks 13th among Flames forwards in average ice per game this preseason.
Best case, it's looking like he'll play on their 4th line and there's no guarantee the impact he makes is a positive one. That doesn't seem worth a 2nd round pick.
3) Rasmus Andersson has quietly had a strong preseason. He's looked calm with the puck on his stick, has done a nice job of getting his shots through traffic (as well as shooting for deflections), and the Flames have out-chanced their opponents 17-8 with him on the ice at 5v5.
This should end the Lazar debate.
Rasmus Andersson is the player Cgy used with our second for Baertschi. - manvanfan
Lazar has been very underwhelming...he's playing himself onto the 4th line or press box
Ras is looking very good ...if not for tbe D depth on his side he would be playing in the NHL this year

Granlund Sven will score more goals this year then Gaudreau Monahan. Waits for Reds revenge .
- VANTEL
Even if combined they score more then one of them, then it's a huge win for us.
Sven, granny and a third round pick
For
Monohan 50 percent salary retained and a second rounder. |

I get what your saying
But I think most people have paid way too much for hundreds of repeat channels
I understand the reasons for regional access only but there needs to be a better option than buying center ice ...essentially your paying for 31 channels when you just want one
If you live in a different province than your favourite team there needs to be an option to get your favourite team on sportsnet or tsn when you pay for 5 tsn and 6 sportsnet channels
It's all about advertising and money but they are missing out on viewers ...I know many fans who would watch more if they were given the option - Redmile247
Bang on. When that big SN deal was signed there was no reason for regional coverage in Canada anymore all CDN teams could have been broadcasted live across the country for all to see on a 'proper' cable package. But yet they keep it regional to gouge the consumer. I could see a 'Centre Ice' Package for people that want to watch a boatload of American teams play and such which is fine…but why would I pay $200 to catch the extra 15-25 Canucks games that aren't on regular cable when I just want one channel?
Now having said that I would pay a reasonable rate for Centre Ice such as $90 or $100 for the full season but oh no…can't do that... |

It's the NHL, that's why he's having a hearing. Zero consistency when it comes to discipline. How many times last year did we hear exasparated NHL gm's, coaches & players say that they don't know what a clean hit is anymore.
Pretty funny, huh. |

I have a base package and added sports channels ...I pretty much stay in the same 16 channel range with a few pvr shows - Redmile247
Ya I may run my channels down as well.
And when I called Shaw to add SN Pacific to my package here in Alberta (because you can buy single channels now which is great), to watch Canucks games they informed I could have it added but the Canucks games would be blacked out when the games start…I would have to buy Centre Ice anyways... |

Horvat has already said in an interview that he loves playing in a Canadian city. I am not sure he would like to play in a non traditional market like Seattle |

Agree....if you simply want to watch one team it's not worth it, but if you enjoy the game and watching some of the better players in the league, not the Canucks, then it's worth it.
I watch all kinds of games throughout the year, mostly Canucks and Flyers but I also watch Tampa games and games with the better players in the league. |

That would be why I bought Center Ice this season. Tired of thinking they are going to show a game then it goes to blackout. With my time zone, I can watch another game before the Canucks play anyways. |
