Yes and let's be honest here the players like it. In the past it was dump, chase, block, clog, roll 4 lines
- Upstate_isles

Of course the players like it. Players of every age like to be coached. They want to be taught something new. As long as it works. Crappy had no idea how to coach. That's why he always played the vets. He let them go out and do what they wanted to do. Since he couldn't teach the kids, they sat.

Nothing with De Colle he just hasnt put it all together. He needs to work on skating.

As for Strome, poor kid got Cap- sized. Learning bad hockey and hard to unlearn.
He was only kid that didnt immediately flourish under Weight. This will be known as one of Snows better moves along with moving Griffin Reinhardt for Barzal and Beauvillier.

i like of like how the isles lines are shaping up. Only decision left to be made is who is odd man out of Kumelin, Beauvillier or Chimera. Hard to Imagine its Chimera given he scored 20+ goals from 3rd and 4th line.

That's a good one Sparti.

It would appear, and you guys would see this more than I, that there is a LOT more coaching and teaching going on than there has in a long time.

I think Kulemin has to be the odd man odd. He is not the future and Chimera should play over him. Isles need to give Barzal, Beau, and HO Sang enough time to show what they can do. Time to trust the young talent without Cappy and his staff coaching.

Could not agree more hockeyman. Would have been nice for some vets to rebel against Cappy and Garth.

Certainly looks like Weight and his staff are engaged in teaching the kids and changing up the structure a bit and of course I'm happy to hear/see this, however the bottom line is the execution of the plan on the ice and the success of the structure played against the opponents game plan. I'm interested to see how this all plays out.

oh it was extremely evident in the open practice two saturdays ago.
Tons of coaches. lots of feedback.

Love that weight addressing two huge things we all hated here
1) not letting kids learn on their own and find own way
2) using stupid shot blocking system which not only pinches you in your zone most of the game, but leads to more injuries too.

Oh yeah. Installing new systems doesn't do jack-squat unless they work in real game play. If they don't, then it's back to the drawing board and install a different systems. I would assume that Weight has a few other systems in mind as back-ups. But the systems you use as a coach need to suit the talent level you have. They have to utilize the strengths of each player. Unlike Crappy who only had one system, whether the talent was there or not.

I kind of get the feeling that Kuli will start off on the 4th line with Barzal in Bridge. Give him a few weeks to get his legs under him. If he succeeds and starts lighting it up, then Kuli gets waived, Chimera goes to the 4th line and Barzal centers the 3rd. Something like that. Maybe they throw Barzal on a wing.

I think he did better with no talent. He loved no talent guys and would constantly praise them. He is such a moron I'll be shocked if he ever gets another coaching job.

Do you mean Head Coaching job? Or the assistant gig he's got with Florida?

I hope the Rangers hire him after they fire AV in December when they nose dive out of playoff contention

I'm shocked MSG+ is televising the isles/devs game tonight especially with Rangers playing on MSG at the same time. Rare for preseason

For anything. I didn't know he got an assistant job. Crappy brings nothing to the table. Totally dumb to hire him. I wonder if they saw the clip of JT taking the white board away from him to draw up a power play.

that would not be consistent with preseason. Barzal could be 2nd best forward in preseason for the club. I thought Nelson did bring it a lot more in game vs rags.

Lee JT Eberle
Ladd Barzal Bailey/JHS
Beau Nelson JHS/Bailey
Chimera Cizikas Clutterbuck

Is a line up i would very happy to see to start season.

Is it a devils telecast? Seems isles are only team that dont televise their own preseason games. our home game vs Rangers at Bridgeport was rangers telecast.

why is bernier still getting a look? though he did throw a mean hit on JT Miller where they both went at each other and Miller got rocked.

My guess is Clutterbuck is already hurt. He has not looked sharp in preseason.

They need bodies for the last couple of games. I'm sure they don't want all the starters to play in these meaningless games. Jesus what has clutterbuck played in 1 preseason game?
