Jenner can play center. Jenner is 24/Anderson 23. AA is good, I agree but getting slower by the day and 29. Bouma is worthless and 27. Trade goes with Stan's narrative of younger/faster and both can lay the lumber. - Assman22
Works for me then.
Cap wise, Anderson wants ~2M and Jenner costs 2.9M this year, but only has one year remaining on his deal. It works for now until Jenner wants a raise, then who knows |

Agree. Cost control over X amount of years is a factor that all GMs but Bowman most especially has to take in consideration with exploring player movement in and out. If I'm not mistaken, the Saad/Panarin and Murphy/Hjalmarsson deals were predicated on this notion. Maybe not solely but a significant factor. |

AA/Bouma for Jenner/Anderson - Assman22
Yeah, that deal would never happen. Why would CBJ give up two middle 6 players for one middle 6 player + a guy who is barely a 4th liner, both of whom are older then the CBJ player by 3-6 years? Anisimov being cost controlled isn't enough to overcome that he's older and will be on the decline sooner than Jenner. |

Regarding the potential LTIR situation. Am I correct in assuming that a player must be on the roster in order to be placed on LTIR? In other words, Hossa and Rozy must be part of the 23 man, opening day roster prior to being placed on LTIR in season correct? |

Yes. They'll be on the opening day roster and then placed on LTIR, so second day roster will be different than the first. It's a good thing the Hawks don't play the first day of the season. |

On paper, some waiver exempt Hawks would be assigned to RFD. Schmaltz, Forsling ADB, etc. Then after LTIR, guys get called up. |

Yep, paper transactions.
Though if Debrincat makes the team, a waiver eligible player is getting waived, possibly 2 players waived depending on if Q goes with 7 or 8 D.
Toews, Saad, Panik, Kane, Schmaltz, Sharp, Anisimov, Hartman, Kero are all locks (unless Q has a falling out with Kero, I guess). That leaves 4-5 spots for: Tootoo, Wingels, Bouma, Jurco, Hayden, Hinostroza, and/or Debrincat. 2-3 of those guys aren't making it and only the latter 3 are waiver exempt. |

They way the young guys are playing isn't making those decisions look any easier. |

So tired of politics dominating media everywhere you turn.
This blog site was one of the few escapes I had interacting with the outside world.

Well, Anderson is asking to be traded and they had Jenner on the block this summer. AA played well in CBJ prior to coming over. Perhaps add a prospect as well. Anyways not happening, but do wonder what they'd want for the disgruntled Anderson. |

With so many political posts and other non Hawk hockey posts (trolls, MLB, NFL, NBA, celebrity, local and national news) we need to start using a standard reply. I suggest a simple "DNR - do not reply". As soon as one of these posts appear on the site the next person replies "DNR - do not reply" with no additional verbiage. That signals to all the regulars on the site to ignore the post. |

They were dangling Jenner in return for a high offense winger, which they ultimately got in Panarin by trading Saad. No longer need to use him as trade bait. The only center type the Jackets seem to be targeting are also high offense, of which Anisimov was not for them. They might settle for a solid 2C in Anisimov, but not at the cost of Jenner imo.
Who knows what they would want for Anderson. Kekalainen said there hasn't been an official request for a trade and his agent said negotiations ongoing and they hope to have a resolution soon. |

I think they were looking for a center prior to the Wennberg signing, no? He and Dubinsky are their centers and they kicked Jenner out to wing I believe.
Again, it's not like it's going to happen so this whole thing is really moot anyway. I would be interested in seeing what they'd like for Anderson however.
