I read there was three brawls in the last two weeks at Walmart. It was reported the greeter overheard some kids shouting Nucks Suck .

Certainly look to be on the path forward with that lineup though, because of the draft and some lotto luck.

Agreed. They are very strong at centre and if Nurse keeps improving they will be serious contenders for several years.

honestly its 1 player , take out McDavid and its a crapshoot roster

but like Canuck fans know a player like that gives the team swagger ala Bure

- onesmallleap

I don't buy that argument, he's on their team so the point is not really relevant, they acquired him by finishing near the bottom of the league. That's the point.

Yes I know, they got EXTREMELY lucky with that happening....extremely. I think last year was the first year with those specific odds. If that trend continues, then I may change my mind.

i can see teams being Leary of the Canucks in a 7 game series, our struggle will be the grind of the season not beating us down

did anyone see the Babych comments on Goldobin? high praise for the kid, and he said he really trusted Larionov's opinion of the kid and thats good with me. i believe we lost Igor over something like 250000 dollars. how dumb was that?

yeah but he didn't really give any compelling reasons why. just because larionov said it and he trusts him.

Igor was the Russian Gretzky first class all the way. if he thinks the kids got something its a good sign for the Canucks going forward

Nino Nieddereiter had 1 goal 0 assists in 55 games his 2nd season but has always been a good possession player. Last year he was an elite possession player (on a team that excels in possession) and ended up with 25 g 57 points.

Hopefully Virtanen can follow that path, I think they are similar players.

It's defineltey the hardest year to predict the lineup, even Nighthawk is baffled! So many new pieces and only two lines have any history together
- CanuckDon

Yes i am. Too much to consider tbh.
Quite a mish mash line-up & likely TDL is our hope.

Well that would be great. Guess two things have to happen first. One JV makes the team. Two the Canucks excel at puck possession. Not sure if Jake can overcome the second hurdle.

Was looking at Nino's career stats the other day and made me feel a bit more hopeful about JV.

Problem is that he's more of an outlier.

Jv will be fine, even if he's not a star, he'll be a half decent middle 6 winger south decent possession numbers.

I'd be pretty happy with that at this point. If he can be a 10-15 goal winger who's a beast on the forecheck and is a solid puck possession player than that's not a bad outcome. Hopefully his strong camp carries over into the regular season(NHL or AHL).

he was an exciting player to watch, and was largely compared to Chara due to size, but was never considered anything close to what you have said.

Remember when Dragon said the only guy in the league he'd consider trading Tree for was McDavid? Good times.

without fail he'll be able to pot a couple of beauty goals off the rush each season

needs to find a home around the net when they get the sustained zone time after he's thrown it back down the boards to the point man

and a few softies out by the left hash mark to top it all off

This has always been his weakness when I've watched him(going back to his playoff junior games that I watched), he's great off of the rush, but he seems a little lost once his team gets sustained zone pressure. He should definitely be staying in front of the net, so far he's done a decent job of that in the pre-season.

In the past he's always wondered off in the high slot and made it hard for his line mates to get him the puck.
