Yamamoto has 5 goals in the pre-season, but he has been playing 1st unit powerplay and essentially been playing in the oilers top 6 with their regulars. Not trying to take too much away from the kid, as he is a damn good player, but EDM needs to temper those expectations.

McDavid and Draisaitl stir the drink there but he's a nice piece with a mix of higher end and veteran players.

100%. I think he is definitely a good piece for them. They have a few skilled forwards still waiting to crack the NHL, they can afford to take a gamble on an undersized kid like Yamamoto. The Canucks can afford to take a gamble on a kid like Pettersson who has unreal potential, but I am not so sure they can afford to gamble on a kid under 5'9 and 155 lbs.

That's what they said about Gretzky, you can't hit a shifty guy, which most smaller players are. He's not ready for the NHL, I'm assuming, but he's certainly a talented kid, that was my point. There's been smaller players, as I said, in the league for a long time. If he gains some weight this year he could be a great pick.

Not one of these guys were more than 5'9"

Brad Marchand is 5'9" 180 lbs
Johnny Gaudreau is 5'8" 157 lbs
Jared Spurgeon is 5'9" 165 lbs and he plays defense
Tyler Johnson 5'8" 180 lbs
Cam Atkinson 5'8" 180 lbs
Conor Sheary 5'8" 175 lbs
Mats Zuccarello 5’7″ 179 lbs
Patrick Kane 5'9" 175 lbs (might be 5'10")
Jonathan Marchessault
Jaden Schwartz
Michael Cammalleri
Tyler Ennis
Paul Byron
Frank Vatrano
Brendan Gallagher
Theo Fleury
Marty St. Louis
Mats Naslund
Hakken Loob
Marcel Dionne
Ted Lindsay
Rod Gilbert
Tony Tanti
Stan Jonathan
Danny Gare
Brian Gionta
Rene Robert
Pat Verbeek
Henri Richard
Dave Keon
Yvan Cournoyer

etc. etc.

which meant I wouldnt trade him since that trade would never happen. Finally get it?
- SMBDragon

Even the great one got traded and you wouldn't ever trade tree? How about for a 1st round pick 22 to 26ov in the upcoming draft?

Depending on your definition of the tiers (likelihood of making NHL/ceiling/value of aquisition/etc), I think I'd be swapping Molino for Lockwood. He had a big freshman season, another solid season and he could really jump up the team's prospect rankings

If VAN could recover a 3rd round pick in exchange for Tryamkin's rights, I would be satisfied with making a deal

I would guess his rights would be almost worthless. I would hang on to him and see if his stock rises. Also, keeping his rights fuels the hysteria.

He hates weed so he is dead to me anyways.

Hmm... I'd probably hold out for a high third or low 2nd. If the 3rd was in the 80s I'd want a 4th included as well.
I wouldn't trade him for the 6th OV pick however! I trust Jim more with lower picks then higher ones, in the 1st round.

Agreed, but he was a 3rd round pick so if VAN got an offer somewhat close to that I would be very happy to take it and continue building

I went to Seattle last month and picked up 2 grams for 10 bucks! 18 percent thc, 3 percent cbd. Into the vaporizer she went and did a bang up job.
I hope we follow their model of free market and not Ontario's.

I'll find out in November.
Going to Seattle to see The Tedeschi Trucks Band play 2 nights. Being a Health Canada medical marijuana patient makes me a little worried. I'm hoping that a middle aged couple taking the train won't raise any red flags.

I took the ferry from Victoria to port Angeles, much nicer customs officials, I'd imagine a train would be chill as well.

Pens should pass the Flyers this year.
