oh ya marner is playing

Ya, he's been kinda quiet.

Is he gonna have the sophomore slump? (I know it's early but he seems a little flat.)

Brown looks rusty

The great thing is that even if Brown does have a down year, it really isn't a big deal with all the other options we have. Marleau seems a more than adequate replacement for his offense this year.

I know it's preseason, but something looks off with the Habs. I'm getting a real post lockout Leafs vibe from them.

It's weird besides brown all the other young guys don't seem to be worse this year like you would expect.
- HealthyScratch6

Yeah he hasn't looked great. Not sure if it's the new line mates or what. He looked good on the pp, hopefully he gets some confidence from that.

I know it's preseason, but some these guys need some confidence to get going early in the year.

Rielly has looked solid so far in pre season. Seems quicker this year.

(frank), I sure hope so. Even if it's only 1. Just 1 (frank)ing game against the habs!

Why no love for Brown did he get an assist on the Nylander goal? Him and Marleau did all the heavy lifting keeping that puck alive. He's on the 4th line with Matt Martin. As Babs would say he's playing the game the right way just no offense.

Brown wouldn't have had 20 last year if he hadn't played a considerable chunk with Matthews.

Hainsey looks solid too. Their slowest D but excellent gap control and the biggest guy they have back there, long reach. Has handled one on ones better than most.

Rosen has struggled a little in the defensive end hasn't seen as much ice later in the game.

Was the plan always to have Andersen play the full 60 minutes tonight?

I can’t believe how many people are predicting them to challenge for first in the division. Their offence is paper thin and their defense is arguably weaker than it was last year. They rely on Price to be all-world every season and people think that makes them good? Doesn’t make much sense to me.

Aaltonen looks hungry for that spot I keep flopping but he's having a good game tonight, he's fast.

I think we need a good face off guy on the fourth line, that’s Moore.

If Price plays like Price over 60-70 games that puts them in the playoffs and probably puts them in a top 2 spot in the division. He's that good.

But that’s my point, he HAS to be that guy all season because we’ve seen what they are when he isn’t.

I think it's pretty much impossible to go as injury free as last season so nothing wrong with cheap depth. Leivo should really get to play this year.

Can't knock him for being good enough to carry a pretty mediocre team though. Kind of like Hasek with the Sabres to a lesser degree. Those Sabres teams were garbage if you look at who was on their team but they almost won a cup lol. Who stands out on those teams? Peca? I can't even think of anyone else.
