Kole Lind is going to have a monster season in Kelowna this year, I can see him dominating almost every game. He's probably going to be able to push for a roster spot next year if he does and the Canucks don't pad the roster with veterans on 1 year deals.

yeah as much I as I don't mind the Gagner and Del Zotto deals, the Vanek one does bother me, i'd rather see that spot open for someone like Virtanen, Rodin, Goldy - I doubt it would make much of a difference in terms of production wise or vet leadership. In the grand scheme of things, i'd rather see a few more kids than golden girls in the lineup.

However, next year, it would be great to see Lind, Petterson, Gaudette, Dahlen, Chatfield get a real chance to crack the lineup.

This seems to be the marinate season strategy by Canucks on prospects. With the short term contracts there isn't much of a commitment to these vets. The prospects should come in and show they are bettter and earn a roster spot. If JB finds a deal to pick up an asset in moving the vets out all the better. The development curve of these kids sure looks good and that chance at cracking the line up even more real.

They all get the chance every year.
Lind showed well but not ready yet.
Pettersen too young & needs to add more strength.
Gaudette advised to stay in college.
Dahlen more grooming is needed.
Chatfield made a strong imoression indeed.
Overall none are likely to be ready next season & a crack to get in is always there but the door is open if proven they earned it & no going back. No rush

Emile is another Ferland ...not in game style but was an alcoholic who has cleaned himself up ...I think they would like him to make it through, but had to take the risk as he wasn't making the team in cgy
