I was very happy to see that scumbag DeAngelo walked by Konecny on the OT goal last night. Just as happy as I was to see him shipped out of Arizona. - FloHaake

Too bad he’s better than half of the flyer defenseman - Bobd62
Please clarify which of these he's better at: Getting suspended for making slurs at teammates or getting suspended for abuse of officials?
He was so good that he was flipped for a second round pick 2 years after he was drafted after a solid AHL season. Gotta wonder if he's grown up yet or not, being as he's only 21 and already on his third team.
Edit: Can't forget his other CHL suspension for using a racial slur against an official. |

It starts to get weird when talking about the right or left half, because the left brain controls the right side of the body and vice versa. I can envision a scenario where as long as AMac's brain isn't controlling his body, he might start playing better |

Maybe he just needs to rotate his brain 90 degrees? |

Gudas/Morin/amac - Bobd62
You're delusional. I hope DeAngelo just devours minutes on your blueline. The more minutes he gets, the less likely your precious Rangers are to make the playoffs. The less likely the Rangers are to make the playoffs, the more likely the Flyers are to make the playoffs.
There's a reason he's on his third team already. |

Based on how camp has gone so far, this would be my preferred roster for Game 1
Weal-Couturier-Voracek
Lindblom-Giroux-Konecny
Filppula-Patrick-Simmonds
Leier-Laughton-Raffl
Extras: Lehtera & Weise
Provorov-Hagg
Sanheim-Gudas
Ghost-Morin
Extra: Macdonald
Eliott

McDonagh, Skjei, and Shateenkirk are good, despite Shattenkirk's defensive shortcomings. Marc Staal is vastly overrated and overpaid (not as overpaid as AMac, mind you). Smith is a good 4/5 guy, Holden is a 6/7. DeAngelo is very offensively gifted, but his positioning of defense needs some serious work.
I'd put Provorov against anyone on NYR, but they don't have anyone else to put up against NYR's big 3. Ghost is more dynamic offensively than any D on either team, but he's always going to take big risks that will backfire some times. Gudas is a solid #4 that i'd put up against Staal. Hagg, Sanheim, and Morin all fall between #3 and #6 guys right now. Then there's Amac and Manning who I could live without. |

disagree, actually
Staal's contract is an "AMac contract sized margin" worse than AMac's contract |

Totally agree with this. I was just responding to a (what I think) was a disrespectful post about ad. For the rangers he was needed because he is right handed and plays an up tempo game. He’s had problems no doubt but whether he fits in or not remains to be seen. |

It is short sighted, and I believe any actual experiment with Giroux at LW will end rather quickly - YuenglingJagr
It's not short sighted and calling it such is simply not being open minded. It may not last but there are certainly merits to it.

I didn't say letting him play LW was short sighted. I said the idea that he needs to be moved to wing, but Filppula should be center was short sighted |

I played hockey at various levels from 10 years old through college and never once did it cross my mind to make a homophobic or racial slur against a teammate, opponent, or official. I've been involved in numerous fights and brawls where emotions boiled over, but I never considered ever using slurs, especially racist ones.
I'm not saying he's a bad guy, and my daughter used to go to his old pediatrician who said he was always very pleasant, but 3 suspensions in 3 years and 3 NHL teams in 3 years makes you wonder. |

I agree but I just think it’s to early to brand him a sb if something happens again rangers have to dump him and I think that would be a shame. |

Pretty sure DeAngelo had a sit down with his agent in the offseason. He was told by his agent that he was a stereotypical Jersey turd, maybe he should go by Tony instead of Anthony to make people like him more.
Still hasn't worked... |

Gaudreau grew up 15 minutes away and didn't have to change it to "John."
