Okay. I think he completes his contract but not given a second one - VANTEL

Agreed. - Nucker101
I also don't think Loui will have a bounce back year playing third line minutes with Sutter or top line minutes with the twins, same with Vanek there is no way he scores 20 goals or 40 points

What's the point? I'm not buying the cap space argument since he sucks at using cap space.
Sucks at assset management.
The only thing that will save his ass is drafting and so far his first draft(easiest to judge) looks bad. - Nucker101
what cap space argument? I think you are off topic. I said we won't know how this management group performed until the new core is in place. Yes, you can judge them now but nobody knows for sure how the team will look in a few years. His picks could pan out and we may be competitive quickly or they may bust like Virtanen. Why are you talking about cap space?
edit. I also said Benning won't be around when we know what his picks have amounted to |

If those guys are ready and have a good year do you want a GM that is still learning the ropes? It is multiple years that you need to sign a guy that is batting .500 as your team remains in the bottom of the league. - VANTEL
Who are you bringing in to replace him ? |

I can't predict the future of who will be available at that time , sorry. If I had a choice it would be Tallon or Davidson but it also might be worth looking at someone like Bill Guerin , Al MacIssac or Norm MacIver |

I was so hoping that we somehow could get Dale Tallon, but trevor linden and his pat quinn card couldnt get it done. |

I like your first two choices ...guys with a bit more of a pedigree ....if you don't want to lock up a guy with minimal experience why go after the others ...you could end up with another benning minus the drafting |

Carol and I aren't talking right now. I find her clear lack of faith in the skills of the Subban very disturbing. - bloatedmosquito
Subban is not the D-man you are looking for. Move Along.

I know, they deserve to skip the ring of honor and go straight to management |

I would be interested in replacing Linden with MacIssac . This guy learnt from the very best.
Stevie Y stepped into a GM role with a different team when he was with Det. Guerin has been around for quite a while same as Calgary got a GM that was assitant GM .
I don't want to keep going through a recycle list like Lombardi Sutter . I would take a Larry Robinson though. |

Benning was an assistant who was fairly well thought of too when van hired him ....sometimes the devil you know is better than the devil you don't
Every GM has good and bad aspects ...right now van needs on who can draft well and they have that |

Really?
Who would you rather JV OJ and Pettersson or
Pastarnak Sergachev/Tkachuk Glass?
Secondly you can keep him on as a draft specialist. He is not a great GM at all
I wanted JV myself but not the other two

Later round picks are nice on the rare occasion they do pan out. Hitting home runs in the first round to me is more important
