You're going to be right about Sergachev.
He is soooo good. |

I have to admit I was disappointed when we took OJ but time will tell he is young |

interesting that they have Dahlen listed at centre on the assignment list , i wonder if it's managements plan for him to be a centre going forward ? |

The following players have been assigned to Utica:

Brisebois, Guillaume Defence
Chatfield, Jalen Defence

Second round picks are not later round picks - VANTEL
I haven't agreed with every JB pick either. I would have preferred Sergachev or Tkachuk over Juolevi, would have preferred Ehlers or Nylander over Virtanen.
But overall our drafting and scouting is a lot more solid than it has been in decades. And later round picks all count. His track record will be a lot more defined at the end of his contract. |

Really?
Who would you rather JV OJ and Pettersson or
Pastarnak Sergachev/Tkachuk Glass?
Secondly you can keep him on as a draft specialist. He is not a great GM at all
I wanted JV myself but not the other two - VANTEL

Ahhh, HB classics from yester year. Well, last off season. |

#nomoredroppasses - we_are_all_canucks
Looks like Sedins and Edler are out of tomorrow's game with how he PP units practiced. But the Canucks did use the drop pass as a zone entry option. It's NB's prized strategy. |

I was disappointed too.....Keller was it for me even over pool party.
I didn't research the D for that draft year because I assumed forward.
After the draft I looked at the D and Serg's upside is sooo high. That shot and skating for his size. |

LE is making 6 million a year, and will 37 when his contract is done (This is almost Sedin-like in terms of contract)
Sutter will be 32 when his contract at 4.245 a year is done.
LE contract is really inexcusable.
Sutter's contract isn't straining on our cap, its more so that he has been passed over depth wise by 2 centers and playing Sutter in a 3rd or 4th line center roll at that cap hit is dumb - Codes1087
Depth wise i only saw Sutter as a 3C if we r a good team.
A lil pricey but we can manage it.
As for LE $6m was the going but term will be decided on his performance.
I'm only keeping an open mind but no NTC at the end is still ok.
That said he has to make good this season & beyond on earning it. |

Archibald still in the mix - VANTEL
He certainly would add some much needed grit. Intriguing player for sure.
If he beats out Jake for a final spot I can see that really deflating the kid after such a good preseason. He seems to get in his own head.
We will see.... |

I was looking at the last thread and posting as everyone moved to here so I will repeat.
I don't see Benning getting another contract after this year. Low finishes, questionable contracts , trades , and draft picks may have Aquilini saying thanks for the memories.Adios. - VANTEL
Its quite possible but i always ask firing is easy but who is the better replacement? |

I would like a Jake Archie Burmistrov 4 th line. They can all score and stir it up . I don't care if Vanek sits in the box . I thought it was a mistake to sign him. If Archie eases up send him back |

After 3 complete years I rate Jim at 65%. Not a super hard number to find a better replacement |

After last season i think JB is under the microscope now.
2018-19 will be a make or break year no doubt. |

Its convenient to use hindsight but other GM's passed on those as well.
Are we really that bad off with those 3 given they r still developing?

Out of JV Sergachev/Tkachuk Glass i had it at the time as...
Ehlers Sergachev Mittelstadt.
I can live with JV & Pettersson no prbs & can wait on OJ.

Gaudette Lockwood Lind for just 3 look pretty stellar as non 1sts.
We didn't pass on any superstars in any draft imo

Too many factors to decide if he will make as a C just yet.
200' game & a playmaker & FO's & assignments dictate how he will fare.
Idk tbh how his skill set pans out & at 19 too early to guess. |

We have to wait
I have heard a few quotes that I have heard from EP that I haven't been thrilled about. When he said it is going to take at least 3 years to be ready was surprising. It may be realistic but I want a player that has more urgency . Just my take . |
