He will get into last pre-season game with the other 2. If Wiercioch gets waived it should be know big deal,as Pedan has had a pretty good pre-season, as has Biega.
Biega being a player that has an edge because of his hard work and versatility. - Reubenkincade

Send down Biega... vetern 7th d but no additional upside. Good to sit or Utica... who really gaf really? Me... not a (frank)ing chance. Keep any with upside, waive the ahl lifer... that's easy.
Does anyone really give a rats chewed up old arsehole if we lose Biega? |

No D left in camp is waiver exempt. Why TG said tough decisions about D. They are the high commodity for Canucks on waiving. - Nuck4U
Isn't Stecher waiver exempt? |

I think you're getting carried away here.. - Nucker101
Seems everyone has there ....urges....ahem...for certain players.
Like DA on roster over Rodin.... shall we say more
I hope they give DA a fat one way contract and waive him down until there are more injuries or JV falters.

He's played better than all three of the AHLers, I will give zero (frank)s if one of those guys get claimed. If anything, Chatfield stays and send biega and pedan down |

No he played enough games last season given signing age to lose exempt status. |

You think Rodin has outplayed DA this pre-season? Not like Rodin has shown anything in the NHL. Let him light up the AHL and earn a call up. |

My question about Stecher being exempt was in response to a poster claiming no defensemen left on roster were waiver exempt.
I couldn't care if they waived any of those 3 either, |

Ya, I believe you are right, couldn't remember how many games.
Didn't he just go over by a couple games? |

I couldn't care if they waived any of those 3 either, nor would I care if Stecher went to AHL as he hasn't been very impressive, Hutton has been better. - Renidrag
Hutton has been better at getting scored on. He's very skilled at that. Did you catch either LA game? |

He and Stecher still struggle defensively at times, but some of you are forgetting that they're still young dmen. It's only Stecher's 2nd pro year and Hutton's 3rd.
I don't think either of them are blue chip talents, but it makes zero sense to play fringe veterans over them. |

Yes... if jv stays up for a dozen games starting on the 4th and working his way up the lineup or sent to the minors then no big deal.
Start him low and let him work his way up and if he can't then send him the (frank) down, no harm, no fowl. - Pres.cup

I think you play Hutt bottom pair and pp, watch his minutes and help him get better/confidence. I personally don't see Stecher making the same kind of mistakes, he gets pushed around but positionally I like his game |

Well his preseason wasn't as spectacular as last season. Deployment or linemates may play a role. You see him making plays to plugs and it's just sad there is no give and go for him. Chaput is a black hole of offense.
As for DA & Rodin the two play very different games. So hard to compare. One has the pedigree and higher profile so that may factor into waiver decisions. Plus offensive abilities are valued. Not an issue if Rodin is waived. He will get more time on top line having missed so much hockey would help. |

Hutton can provide offence if he's allowed, little Willie didn't want that from him, but he can provide offence. Which is badly needed. So what if he's weak defensively, manage his ice-time and put him in proper situations.
Not everyone has to be great at everything, there's nothing wrong with having players who are one dimensional, just not 23 of them. Jovo was a bit of an adventure in his own end but man he could join the rush and create some offence. |

Only 5 minutes of the second game. Both Hutton and Stecher have struggled defensively.
Also, I edited that post as we would lose Stecher on waiver wire. |
