He said they'll make some cuts but it didn't sound like all the cuts would be made.
The cut list should start with Chaput, Megna, Biega.... tough calls after that. Wonder if the rest of the bubble get the last game to show. They can rest Edler, Tanev, Sedins, Bo for sure. - Nuck4U
I cut Rodin before Megna at this moment. Rodin has showed nothing all pre-season. Megna is a good PK guy at least. |

The fact that Archie and Pedan bring some toughness to this team. Allowing the other players to play a little bigger.
Someone is going to need to play the PK. Dorsett, Archie, Eriksson, Sutter, Granlund, Horvat. - manvanfan
I really don't think Gudbrandson will sign here so it may be time to start moving him and replace him with the cheaper Pedan |

It's going nothing to do with it. If you added Ehlers to this roster of wieners he would barely be better then Baertschi. Ehlers plays with a bunch of large forwards in Wpg. Difference is he already has the Virtanen types that have matured, to play with. - manvanfan

Benning needs to get more 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks as well. - LeftCoaster
He probably won't make those type of moves unless he gets another contract. He wants to show improvement ASAP and not benefit the next guy. |

Don't kid yourself, Ehlers has always been, and will always be, more offensively talented than Jake, but you're right in that he probably wouldn't have put up 82 25 39 64 as a 20 year old with the Canucks. |

Doesn't Rodin have two 5 vs 5 goals in three games? |

Agree but the vocal don't factor that in and throw the shade....so just a man o mano statement game would for optics sake turn the conversation. |

I have liked Jakes game this year , this is why we wanted him. If he continues he will be a top 6 forward. |

I haven't been able to watch but I'm reading he looks good, you know I wanted them to pick him but I've come to terms with him never being as good as I'd hoped. Ehlers was always the better player but it's water under the bridge now. |

If he continues to think the game TG taught him. Skill is in place. |

Rodin could play PK plus has scored and shown he's got talent. Is it enough to make the cut? Probably not given roles left and BB's emergence. But Megna....please... |

Him and BB have been among the best 5 forwards in the preseason . Add Bo Granlund and maybe Sven and you can see a top 6 taking form. I also thought Gagner Sutter Burmistrov Archibald and Dorsett have looked good . |

I think in China they had him with the two speed balls so no points. Last night they had him on a good line he assisted on JV |

yes - VANTEL
I haven't seen him on the scoresheet. As for a core or top six taking shape, they need more talented guys. A few more years of building. |

Ehlers will be better offensively but as I alluded too, he has the right type of players around him to allow him to thrive too. If Van has the chance to get a player of Ehlers type in the coming draft. JV and that player would surely compliment each other. |

As much as I like the 2018-19 looks, we need a bottom 3 finish this year, so the more they play the better our chances. We just have to endure one more year of mind numbing hockey . - VANTEL

Definitely , but it is better than what we had. The thing I have liked so far is the different style with the younger players. More team toughness ,speed and definitely more net presence, That will change of course when you bring back in the four Swedes and Vanek , but it is nice to get a tease of the future. |

Gagner played last season Hartnell and Sedlak. Clearly the option of playing him with the Sedin's has ended. He needs some bigger bodies to create space for him.
