IMO, Jake has done enough to make the team. I also don't think that someones preseason play determines their spot in the lineup. I think their style of game and the surrounding players do. I am not sure Jake beats out Sven/Bo/Boeser/Sedins/Granlund for a top 6 spot. I think given how the top 2 lines might be spelt out for us, Jake fits nicely in on the 4th line, and if he does well, give him more minutes, but start him there. Bo started on the 4th in his first real year and he developed and excelled.

if you or anyone think the Sedin's are going to be playing anything less than 2nd line minutes than you will be disappointed. We have to factor in that the Sedin's will play a decent amount

If Jake is on a 4th line with Gagner and Burmistrov, he will get 12 minutes per game. That would be a pretty good 4th line skill wise with some physicality as well. Dorsett mixed in as 13th forward.
Burmistrov has also looked impressive this pre-season.

I am not disagreeing with you. Jake is fighting to play on the team, he came to camp ready and he is showing he wants to stay, and he is doing a great job. You skipped right past my point though. Where do you pencil him in, given Boeser has top 6 skill, a top 6 shot, and has incredible preseason numbers and NHL totals for that matter, and how do you pencil him into the top 6 when you know the Sedin's will get it. Let him start on the team, give him 4th line minutes, and reward him if he deserves it.

I dunno how you can reward a player, who has chemistry with Bo, and who potted 18 goals last year, and move him to the 3rd. It certainly is an idea.
