That's my point. He should be all for a tank so he can market the poop out of a "franchise saviour"
Every decent businessman knows that you always take the short term loss for the long term gain - Nucker101
Aquilini is a piece of stool. If he hasn't figured out why Rogers Arena is half empty all the time, than he truly is a dumbass. |

So... a 19yo defenceman is a bust? |

What did he say? Hopefully Mccann is bust - CanuckDon
Sounds like he had it in for a team mate in a Kesler sort of way .
First I heard of it but he seemed positive about it |

I agree but we have a fair weather fanbase. the average fan won't support a rebuild and will follow hockey again when the team is relevant. HockeyBuzz freaks aren't the average fan |

damage control is so important to a franchise like the Canucks, cause their fanbase, (with all due respect) is temperamental and ignorant and only care about winning and exciting prospects. If Benning can land a top 2 pick in the draft, his job will be safe, cause the fans will be too excited about the pick to really call for Benning/Linden's firing. |

Why would I want the kids to develop in a winning environment and not on this garbage team? Geez Lefty, I don't know - CanuckDon
They develop regardless, Virtanen is a prime example. |

the speed at which they develop is what changes. Virtanen playing 20 minutes a night versus 12 minutes a night is going to be crucial to development. Bo is an enigma, and is the exception not the rule. |

interesting that you think we need to lose/ win the lottery for Benning to keep his job you may be right. Or perhaps he just needs to make the playoffs |

Playing 20 minutes a night is meaningless if they don't put in the time to correct behavior, it's not just about minutes Codes. It's not that simple. |

We have some of the dumbest fans in the league. They only see what the province/tsn/sportsnet are telling them. They have not a clue about cap, contract terms, anything. Moj and Blake and Botch are leading the charge to daily Canucks content to the average Canuck fan, and that is where we are at. They cried when Luogno was dealt, signed petitions when Lack was dealt, wanted Benning's head when Higgins was sent to Utica, its a joke. Damage control is all this management team needs to keep themselves safe to this pom pom waving fan base. |

im not saying it is that simple, but you can't just say development is development, despite if its in the NHL or AHL either. |
