Exactly. Duchene is not a fit for us. Cost of return is not worth it. SAvevthe assrdtd got something that fits a whole lot better.

Could not diagree more, he is definately worth a top 9 right wing, a 6th defenceman and at least Glass and Cramorosa. Package all four and we have a great deal.

To place where? Top line RW? That's trading lots of assets (which take much more than you suggested) to force a square peg into a round hole. He's s good player but not a right shot RW top 6.

Except even if we made that trade, that doesn't answer the question of where we put him. He's a top 6 forward who shoots left and is naturally a center. Which one of Gaudreau, Monahan, Tkachuk, or Backlund are you moving down? We could maybe slot him in on his off-wing but there's no guarantee he works there.

Duchene is a good player, I'm not trying to say otherwise, but we have no room for him. It is not worth giving up assets for a guy we don't need and can't fit anywhere.

If we could dump Brower and Bartkowski for him letting him go on waivers would still be a good deal.

Sure a good deal

But like he said, doesn't help the team.

Adds a player in the most saturated posistion and would force them to move a solid asset (jg,Bennett, tchachuk, money, backs, janko).

Sure right now he could be considered better then half those names. But I think keeping these guys over getting duchene looks better more a players view as well.

I'd still say rw is the area of weakness. Foo/ferly aren't going to save that position on the 1st line.

And looking at our d prospects I feel like to really make a run now, giving some of those up might be what's needed to fill that spot. (A fox for kole Lind type deal,) or shoot higher for a rw at trade deadline if contending

Good deal or not, it makes no sense to trade for someone who plays a position we already have depth at. It would be a waste of assets for us to trade for Duchene no matter how good of a player he is because there is literally no room in our lineup for him, unless you're willing to trade of one Monahan, Backlund, Bennett, Jankowski, Gaudreau ir Tkachuk in order to fit him in. I'm not and it's a waste of time.

If we're going to be trading assets for something, it has to be a Top 6 Right Winger to play on the Wing with Monahan and Gaudreau. We are fine pretty much everywhere else and trading for any other position is pointless right now.

Is this a joke? I'm not sure if you're being serious right now. Sakic wants a top 4 defender. He won't consider it unless brodie or Hamilton are in the deal. Also glass and cramorosa are basically negative value.

He said he heard they are talking...but we heard that one before only to hear a couple days later that they didn't actually talk at all. I'll believe it when I see it.

Kind of hope he does. He's a douche of epic proportions. One more reason to hate the lames.

Not surprised you think that....

One of the best players ever. He could have been even better. If he wasn't a super douche. He has always been a douche. Cares about nothing but money. And he still has money issues to this day.

Heard he blew all ofhis ranger money on gambling before he was even done playing for the team.

(frank) it though. He works hard, protects the puck, and sets a fitness precedent,

I know Johnny and Moni have kind of become synonymous with some sort of "unbreakable" duo, but that really shouldn't be the case.

I wish Glen would try a Johnny-Bennett and Tkachuk-Moni line.

Johnny - Bennett - Ferland
Tkachuk - Monahan - Jagr
Lazar - Backlund - Frolik
Versteeg - Jankowski - Brouwer

Imo, this forward group has the perfect mix of skill, experience, physicality and depth throughout all 4 lines.

We've seen time and time again Johnny drives play by himself and easily developed chemistry with guys like McDavid and Hall in all-star/world cup games. This skill with complement Bennett and they will finally have some good physicality and someone who can win puck battles on the first line

Tkachuk Moni Jagr mixes up physicality, possession, and a good shot

Backlund and Frolik help Lazar get going

Versteeg and Brouwer add the veteran presence to help Jankowski develop. Brouwer has exp at Centre and Versteeg can match Jank's skill

We only needed Johnny and Moni back then because we had nobody to match either of their skillsets/IQ. But now that we have Bennett and Tkachuk, there's no reason for that.

The one "flaw" with the top line (even with Ferland there) has always been the lack of physicality in winning puck battles and fighting for position.

Put moni and johnny together back on the PP, where its not needed as much
