I think one of the things that went unnoticed last season, especially for Buffalo, was the World Cup and how it affected some players...O'reilly tweaked his back and Kulikov never got a proper first training camp with the sabres....and did risto really need more work to begin the season?

im just not sure how relevant it is. Kuli wasnt very good before he came here and giving him top pair mins to start with didnt help. Its not like we're the only team who had players at the WC. ROR still came in and played his role just fine.

as for ror, they actually sat him for a few games in early November so that he could rest his back

its not what caused their massive drop. Age had more to do with this otherwise they wouldnt have made the kind of changes they did this off season. That tourney lasted at most 12 days. Marchand played in all those games and wound up having a career year...

Joel ward better not. he's Canadian as am i. and i'll be pissed he takes a knee during someone elses anthem let alone my own. he made the smart decision not to especially as a Canadian. he would open up a whole new can of worms.
