Nil was 1st star imo.
- boonerbuck

I could get behind that. Nilsson was the first guy who jumped into my head when I started the blog today.

I also liked MDZ, who was third star.

None of the forwards stood out as being head-and-shoulders better than the others for me. Gagner was OK. Burmistrov was mostly OK. Megna & Chaput both played a ton and were fine.

It seems like they will be one entity, Megna-and-Chaput, forever now, doesn't it?

Benning: Goldobin had an average camp. We like his skill, but he needs to be better in all 3 zones

Benning: Rodin, the hope is that he clears and goes to Utica.

Rodin: If they send me to Utica, I will 100% report there

Benning adopted me after Marwood kicked me out at 8 years old and gave me 20 bucks and told me the world wouldn't cater to the weak, so figure it out.

Benning: The point of Rodin skating with UBC Thunderbirds is because he is waiting on his US visa. Should get it by next Friday.

We all know that either the Flames or the Leafs are going to pick up Rodin given their affinity for Canucks sloppy seconds. Maybe the Leafs will pick him up, never play him and ruin another promising career.

Leafs, and I hate to say it, have enough skilled young kids on their line up. Rodin doesn't hold a candle to some of those kids.

People need to realize that he wasn't exactly dominating the OHL last year and the Euro ice surface might not help him improve on his weaknesses.

More from Juolevi's Agent: He was very disappointed he was cut obviously, but he's a kid, and his plan is to play somewhere else and be ready next year

hes had a bit of a chip on his shoulder signing winning the Swedish league MVP a couple seasons ago. I think he thought his success would translate. Can't blame him for being disappointed.

I think something recently suggested it was all about NHL for him. That he could make money back in Sweden but he was so close to the NHL and that has always been his dream

Virtanen taking time to pose with fans after practice at UBC arena. Some fans in Oilers and Flames jerseys. Virtanen quick to say to each fan he poses a picture with "man those are terrible jerseys though"

Kuzma with an interesting piece. Says that Green's ability to develop players is a perfect example in Virtanen. Green losing Virtanen to Utica and Cull might be worse off for holding him accountable and development instead of being in an "NHL environment" with Green closing watching

I would be a bit annoyed if I was him. It is up to the player to create his own chances but chemistry with Bo and Sven last pre season. Bo and Sven were gone for 2 games in China. Bo's injuried and Sven is Ill. Hasn't exactly had decent line mates. Hopefully he clears and shows up in Utica and shows how good he can be.

So Cull isn't very good at coaching or developing?
