I endorse this statement. Kuzma's articles are more often bad than they ever are good. I just thought it was a pretty interesting thought. - Codes1087
The only concern I have around sending Virtanen down is the mental side of it. He has worked hard and looks way better than years past, often you'd like to keep the momentum going and reward him. The setback/adversity might be tough for him.
I have faith the team brought in the right coach for the AHL and wont worry about how they are developing guys down there |

The reason why I find his article interesting is because Jake showed up last year to camp a tubby SOB, had a bit of a chip on his shoulder, and had never really faced adversity prior to being drafted. Green takes him under his wing, holds him accountable, tells him to get his ass in gear, tells him to play 2 ways if he wants a career, and now Virtanen shows up to camp playing like he has. I just don't think its a coincidence. Green just might have been EXACTLY what Virtanen needed to get brought back to earth and be humbled. |

I know, just hating on the Vancouver sports media because it seems to be the only thing we all agree on here - WhiteLie
We have decades long of our reporters being crap disturbers. If not then they either r suck ups or bandwagoning sensationalists. Not very often do many take a practical approach like say Bob Mac or John Shannon. |

More irony.
Vanek brought in to insulate the young players . His contract takes up a spot that exposes a young player to waivers. - VANTEL
Who is this young player we cannot live without? 😂
All teams can only control prospects only so long & the waiver wire allows player movement. |

Since I can't quote anyone, Maybe the Canucks can package Rodin with a D in a trade.
Carolina?
Kings?
Montreal?

Why would we want Rodin? |

Ok I'll bite...
Rodin is 26yrs old. Not exactly a prospect & not a vet. A tweener i guess who has had bad luck but had his chances. Cannot wait on him forever as a special case. 😜😂 |

Maybe the Bruins scoop Rodin to go with their rodent Marchand? Lol |

He is a younger player that has 3 points in 3 games , can play the PK and is pretty good at D . We don't have a boatload of talent. |

27 is younger? Because that's what he turns in November.
Dude's the same age as Kassian, Duchene, Tavares...
He's... uh... not young. |

I didn't know you were so high on Joakim Nordstrom. Or Josh Jooris for that matter. Your team lacks depth on the wings. |

Nordstrom's a good PKer. Has 200 NHL games under his belt and is 2 years younger than Rodin, who has played... uh... 3 games.
Jooris is just there to plug in if a bottom 6 guy gets hurt.
You are right that the canes have depth issues, but a 27 year old that can't make the Canucks probably isn't the solution. |

True he can help the PK but who can he bump off the roster? |

He's 26. Vantel is just being hysterical.

That was the original point I was trying to make . By bringing in Vanek we give up a younger player. |

On Goldoblin...
Top 6 offensive skills potentials.
Cannot beat anyone out for it.
Top 9 up next but no clue about 200' hockey to force himself into the line-up.
4th liner? Absolutely makes no sense.
Summary: if not lighting it up & gets 30 goals like BB has real potential for then top 6 winger ain't happening. 3rd line is his best opportunity but that said his game is IIHF style where tons of room & wheeling is easier & checking is much less important. Overall his game does not suit the NHL & he cannot figure it out he will be in limbo til the KHL cones a calling. His agent Larionov needs to clue him in from his own experience when in the NHL. |
