Agreed on both points. I think splitting them up on the PP is more plausible than on 5v5. That unit with Henrik out there with the 4 others looked really dangerous.
Burmistrov also looks in over his head as the C on the 2nd unit, he's always fumbling the puck or trying to do too much. Don't see why he or Sutter should see any PP time when the roster is healthy. Sedins, Boeser, Horvat, Sven, Vanek, Granlund and Eriksson are all better options.
MDZ and Stecher should get the most PP mins on the back end. I'd just roll with 4 forwards and 1 of them on each unit. - Nucker101
I wouldn't mind Edler on unit 2 if the 2nd unit was ran by Gagner. Like Gagner on the wall, Bo and some mix of Baertschi/Granlund/Sutter and Edler up high. If Edler had a one timer alignment I feel he'd do better.
Top unit could be Twins, Vanek, Stecher, and Boeser.
MDZ hasn't been a much of a PP guy since his early days in NY. |

I liked how he looked the other day when playing with gagner. they read each other pretty well - SMBDragon
Same line tonight and JV scored first goal from Burmistrov set up.

Edler has a heavy shot. But he can't pull trigger fast enough or shift angle to get through. No PP time is better save him for PK & 5x5. |

He's not a one timer option right now though. That makes a huge difference. Even with Gagner on that unit it still all vacuums over to Henriks side. |

Exactly. Why dynamics of Stecher or MDZ could change that look. Heck would try Hutton over Edler now. |

Did you read what I said about trying him on a Gagner led unit?
And MDZ hasn't been a PP guy since like 2013. Just because he plays a puck moving game doesn't make him a PP QB |

Yes. But Edler doesn't work there either. He's also too slow or a dolt on the drop pass. Has a tell for all his puck movement on PP and fools no PK. MDZ looked good when they had him on the PP in pre-season. So maybe he's found his game again.
Either way MDZ, Stecher and Hutton are still better options then Edler. Who frankly is getting the royal nostalgia treatment from NB using him. Hope TG changes that. |

Fair warning if tomorrow I don't see or hear that Biega, Chaput and Megna to be placed on waiver wire I might have a mini-freak out.
These guys were signed as depth players to help in AHL with development. They got one way deals so don't feel bad about their hard work. It's not enough to block others with actual potential that are ready.
I would add dwindling DD but fine keep him as an extra over DA. Easier to threaten slacking vets with being scratched for his lunch bucket work. |

Burmi is good for retrieval.

Nice take and you are right Hutton needs Tanev. My add ons are the following.
Nucker's theory that Granlund will fall in production this season because his shooting percentage was high is bunk. Booner had it right he's due for breakout and I say at Center and special teams. More minute means more oppportunity Nucker.
Also, Nucker's theory about JV linemates is bunk when he keeps talking about Sutter. He hasn't played with Sutter or DD nor will he so stop saying it as reason to send down. JV has played with Burmistrov & Gagner well. Maybe will with Granlund and Sven. JV's icetime was less tonight because he wasn't used on PK or match up against Mcdavid as Megna was. I don't see why he couldn't in regular season play that role and be better as well.
Won't go into Guddy pile on because clearing the net or laying using his body has not stats. He did his job. You want puck movement play him with MDZ.
Biega should be driven to airport. DA was okay. Didn't miss DD. So chose between two who to send down or keep as extra.
Wiercioch earned a spot as extra just as well as Pedan for different reasons. - Nuck4U

If Granlund stays at center. Having Gagner, burmy, virtanen as a line would most lilely be a 4th line. Sheltered minutes and Van wouldnt have the checking line of Sutter, Dorsett, Archibald, Megna. I would rather sprinkle burmy and gagner about the line up then any of those other 4 guys. - manvanfan
2 of them get replaced with baertschi and horvat
sutter is a bit of a spanner in the works tbh |

Top unit should not be the Sedins, Canucks powerplay has been sh*t with them on unit one. Horvat has earned it. |

Nikita Tryamkin with his 11 points is the 3rd highest scoring D in the 2014 NHL draft.
Ben Hutton with 24 points is 12 highest scoring D and 24th highest scoring player.
MG last draft, Bo Horvat is the only player that will probably ever make an NHL impact. If they didn't trade Schneider.
I guess all i'm saying here is D take an absurd amount of time. No rush on OJ.
And
MG really did suck so badly. JB has done an amazing job of drafting. |

If I was Benning I would be talking to Granlunds agent right now and try to extend him 5 years because I think his extension salary in the beginning of the year might be a lot cheaper than at the end of the year . 5 yrs x 3 mil |

Thats not a half bad idea. Sign Granlund, trade Baertchi at deadline for futures (Unless of course he lights it up) And use Svens spot to sign E.Kane |

I didn't take it anything personally Some people probably get that vibe fro my posting style, but I honestly don't get upset over debates/discussions on here. I might get annoyed with posters, but usually I'm laughing it off in real life.

Says the guy who melted down when we rode him after Kessler was traded and Gilles was canned, that was epic and you lost your π©.
We did pile on, but I'm pretty sure that you left for a year and joined Philly!

I love a conspiracy so my mind is wondering about Sven's mysterious illness and being pulled from the game on the same day Benning was reportedly talking to Columbus |
