I wonder if Granlund is set to have a breakout season. It's possible he could start looking like he is following his brother's development curve. He's been underrated by everyone out of this market.... and many Canucks fans as well.

What do people think his ceiling is?

- boonerbuck

Yup, criminally underrated. His ceiling is a first line winger, although unlikely. He is already a legit top 6 forward in my opinion

He obviously didn't bring to the Canucks what he brought to Florida when playing with Willie. If you don't use what people are expecting to see then opinions will change.

Thats true but add up the injury & WD was the coach means nowhere but up IMO

poll question time.

Who would you rather see make the Canucks, JV or Archie?

if you assume the rest is fairly set, despite where they slot in:

Sedin-Sedin-Granlund
Sven-Bo-Brock
Vanek-Gagner-Erikson
Dorsett-Sutter-??
Burmistov

- dbot

JV should be in. Others didn't point out to you that DD could be an extra in this scenario. As Burmistrov has been used as middle six C. Plus on PP. Did well.

Look tonight for line of Gagner Burmistrov JV that did well last game. If they out play Sutter DD DA again then that's who TG will go with in setting up 2 middle six lines with rest of vets.

I'll take a shot at that...

Playing the Cali teams he stands out handling Kopitar Getzlaf Thornton or any other big body.

So basically just play physical against big teams?

I can walk today, i can even sit up for 15 minute stretches and it appears there isn't any nerve or permanent damage!

I'm looking forward to see what the lines look like in game one!

Break out as in as a two way Center? He seemed to break out as a two way LW/RW last season in goals and assists.

As for ceiling top 6 versatile forward. Floor middle six versatile forward. What I think JB saw when traded for him sending high ceiling of 1LW Shink or bust.

The problem still remains what do you offer a player that has 50 good games at TDL on a contract year that had a sub par year the year before?

missed opportunities

I already called it with a twist,,, we pick up goals they need and don't get when they are forced to waive to make room for Rodin who probably gets injured. Burke's tie will be one twist away from being a noose after that....

If that is all he ends up being good for then he is expendable.
I am hoping he plays more like he did in junior and the one season in Florida where he was a big physical presence, but was a good 1st Passer out of defensive zone.
Adding some shots at net would help. If he got to where Edler once was it would be a huge plus, otherwise, TDL for decent picks

My dream for Gudbranson is to be our Willie Mitchell.
A big stay at home defenceman with some snarl, can clear the crease, make the simple play and reliable on the PK.
